Weight gain with lifting

I have a big final weightloss challenge weigh-in at the end of the week. I've been mainly doing cardio with a little bit of lifting at times. Should I stay away from lifting at all this week? Will it cause any slight weight gain? Any tips for a final weigh in week (is it a good idea to switch up my cardio routine maybe?) Thanks for anything!

Weight lifting doesn't cause any significant weight gain. It may cause you to retain a bit more water for muscle repair, but so will cardio, carbs, and sodium.
If you really want to get your weight down for a weigh in go with the tried and true method of dehydrating yourself and not eating anything 24hr before. Once you weigh in, get some water and food.
Or, you could just do the reasonable thing and continue to eat at a deficit and do whatever form of exercise you want for your fitness goals.0 -

If you can go low carb (like 25 net) 5 days before, you can deplete your glycogen storage and be down a few pounds. Your muscles hold glycogen, once depleted, you'll lose water weight. I do it before weddings and other events.0
