Hi all... I am feeling SO VERY defeated.
October 31st 2002 I weighed 252lbs at 5'4". My world was on a roller coaster from that day forward. I literally stopped eating anything BUT proteins and pretzels... I drank water ONLY and I made a conscious effort to make it a gallon a day. I joined a stretching class at the college and I rode my bike there (13 miles one way) my class got over at 9:30pm I was scared to DEATH so I pedaled like Lance Armstrong!!! Anyhow... By March 7th 2003 I was down to 175. My life was leveling out and so was I. I maintained that weight within a few pounds here and there until Feb 2007 I dropped 10lbs... then May 2009 I was down to 158lbs. Happy!! I think the stress of going through an UGLY divorce helped too...
I love her to pieces... But I KNEW this was going to be hard on my 37 year old body that apparently enjoys extra baggage if you know what I mean.. I learned I was pregnant. Lil miss sunshine arrived feb 2010... on delivery day I weighed 151lbs (pregnant) at my 3 day post baby appointment... I weighed 138lbs!!! I personally was over joyed with this news... But I guess I took it for granted or my body and karma began to collaborate?? Today lil miss sunshine is 16mo old and I am back up to 186lbs...
I don't want to lose it the bad way again... I have cut out ALL fast food, no soda, no friend foods, no ice cream indulgences.. I exercise regularly... I honestly DON'T know what else to do... I would love to lose AT LEAST 30 by December 1st... That's only like 5lbs a month!!

You can do it - this site is a great help! And 5 pounds a month is a nice, slow, healthy pace. You have to be patient, though! :flowerforyou:0

Good on you for being here ....... You can do it - at 5lbs a month you are setting a very realistic goal.
For me personally the "secret" lies in planning....
Plan what you are going to eat - and make time to go to the supermarket and buy the healthy foods you need at least once a week
Plan your days - I plan my next day the night before, so in the morning I can pack my lunch, and any snacks I need to take to work
Every morning I enter all the food I am planning to eat that day - so I know I am within my calories....
During the day I then adjust as things don't always go according to plan :-)
Plan your exercise (even if it is just a good walk every day) - how much time do you have - when is the best time of the day (with a little one this is especially important).....
And then you just go on the ride - every week you loose some more weight you get more determined to reach your goal.....well I do - but then I am very competitve ;-)
Good luck - it is so worth it - but then you already know that0 -
Thanks Ladies!!
I guess I should add in here.. I (we-ish) have a total of 5 curtain climbers... all of whom are in very very different stages in their own existences... We have the popular prom queen(16).. the new found pubescent 6' tall man/boy(13)... the emotional I can't do it toddler pre-teen(9) the thankfully oblivious princess poopy face(6) and lil miss sunshine (16mo). These people keep me cleaning and cooking 24/7 (OH and I have a mild (serious) case of OCD). They all have a chosen sport that they have to be at everyday and other social events... Like the Coach outlet sale... (MUST be there when doors open)
Anyhow.. OH AND I work full time... and I am taking 18 credits in school... Shoot me. There is so little time for me to breath let alone learn to be skinny...
But I AM TRYING!! I am making every effort I possibly can to do this for me... Because I feel GROSS... I raised all the mirrors in my house so I can only see my face.. hahaha!!
In all seriousness.. This has been a long hard battle with myself about right and wrong choices and caring enough about me to WANT to be healthy...
Sadly im not new to MFP... I have been on here for 4-5 years?0
