Hello,
Recently I weighted myself and I have lost 12 pounds since my last weight in 5 days ago! Last week I started my adventure on eating only raw fruits and veggies. I eat and drink a ton so I am wondering how much water weight am I going to lose for the next few weeks?
I weighed 250 on the dot in the start of my raw eating and now I am 237.8! Ah. So actually it has only been 6 days. I just checked lol It feels like weeks have passed by. lol
Has anyone ever lost a large amount of water weight?

Most people lose a lot when they change their diet and eating habits, and it is usually almost all water weight. How much you'll lose depends entirely on how much you weigh at the moment, how much you're eating and how much you have to lose.
Are you hitting your calorie goals? If so then you have nothing to worry about. Give it a few weeks and if you're still losing at a high rate of loss (ie. more than 2lbs a week) then adjust your calorie goal and eat more. It's important to lose no more than 2lbs a week or you can damage your body.
Also can I ask why you're 'raw eating'? If it's only been 6 days and it 'feels like weeks have passed' then it may be time to reconsider your approach as that doesn't sound sustainable. And sustainable habits are the most important factor in losing weight and keeping it off0 -
You're literally eating only raw veggies and fruit?
Yes. A lot of water weight was lost. No one can predict how much more will come from water. If you set your deficit to lose two pounds per week and logged accurately, all you can assume is that 10 lbs came from water since you don't have much data at this point.0 -
Howdy! I would say everyone is probably different as far as how much water your body will hold onto and how it decides to let it go or when. I would say I think my body personal can hold onto about 10lbs, because *usually* I can drop 8-10 over just two days of strict counting, and then I have a slight pause before losing any more which I believe to be fat starting to burn.
Part of your 12 could already be fat! Either way, it truly doesn't matter much! You'll see much faster losses now and for the next bit and it will slow later as you have less and less to lose. Always keep the faith and stick to your plan even when the scale doesn't change!!! It will with time, you're clearly on the right track! Myself I just dropped 3.5lbs overnight, all likely water0 -
You're not eating any protein or fats? Just raw fruits and veggies? I wouldn't even be able to function on that. You're not concerned with nutrition or preserving muscle? Just crash dieting? Good luck to you.0

Awe, I am almost hitting them I decided to eat raw because before, nothing in my diet was raw or fresh. I literally only ate frozen or packaged foods, literally cup noodes, mac and cheese, and rice. Due to school being over with, I think I can change the way I eat now that I am no longer needing the quick fix of food or emotional eating. I am hoping that eating raw will help me be more mindful in the future0 -

I didn't even think of that. lol What is a crash dieting? Teach me your ways.0 -
OP it sounds like you actually want to better your diet, but you are kind of going to the other extreme. I suggest a BALANCE. Fruit, veg, meats and protein, some treats/processed foods, a variety of whole foods...0
