NSVs? What about NSGs?

My 2015 resolution was to try 10 sports. I accomplished that goal 2 weeks ago, and along the way I've been getting fitter and stronger.
I haven't written out my 2016 goals yet, but they will be strength, endurance, and flexibility oriented. The #1 goal is to be able to do a pull-up. I've never been able to do one, so it's a big deal to me. This is what prompted me to join MFP. As I so eloquently told my coworker: if I'm going to do a pull-up I can't be lifting all this!
You're welcome! Here's to pull ups!0 -
They don't seem silly at all. I post goals pretty much every month in a lifting group on here, plus a writing group. One is scale related but everything else tends to be focused on other aspects.
I have big term goals and small term ones. The big ones that I am working time frames on still include:
kayak
obstacle/trail run - am signed up for one on May 21st that is a 10k
learn to dance
learn some hand to hand combat - not sure style/type yet, it's for a writing thing
run a half-marathon - fall 2016
I also have weight lifting specific goals that vary from just adding 5 more lbs to the bar on lifts to reaching body weight related goals such as: squat 1.5 x bodyweight, deadlift 2x bodyweight and bench bodyweight.
Like to keep things interesting. There are others but the basics are there. I have also considered something like tough mudder or others of that nature but not sure I want to go that route, or just focus more on the lifting and look into maybe a competition. Just have to wait and see.

1. Be able to run a 5k with my sister (in progress on 4 weeks of C25K)
2. Stick with SL 5x5 for at least 4 months

Oo I love this!
1. Begin training and then complete a full marathon by 2017.
2. Do at least ONE pull up because I've never been able to.
3. Run a full 10K without slowing down to walk.
4. Go to Cedar Point and ride every roller coaster because I haven't been able to in years.
5. I'd also love to go skydiving...every time it's come up there's always an excuse not to, not anymore.
6. To be able to buy jeans in any store I go in to.
7. Meal prep every single week instead of every other like I do now.0 -
To be able to wrap one towel all the way around. The top connects but the bottom is wide open. Idk why but this is one of my big goals!0
-
This is great! I have a few, so here goes:
1. Front splits
2. One pull-up
3. Headstand
4. A more defined waist (as much as genetics allow).
5. Keep to a schedule of 3 gym sessions per week.
6. Squat bodyweight (and then some!)0 -
Just about everything in this video including being that lean but 1:05-1:15 really blows me away. The flag, too, like Alloutof_bubblegum mentioned (00:45-00:50).

Be too small for my current clothes

Get a modeling job as I am 6"0 -
Run a full 5k without walking and do a (sprint) triathlon.

To be able to do pull-ups/chin-ups
Be able to eat intuitively instead of counting calories
To like what I see in the mirror. I already do, but I have a certain look in mind.0 -
I have actually achieved most of my NSG's:
- I have been able to kayak all day long
- I was able to walk around Lake Geneva in Wisconsin in one day (Lakeshore path is a total of 23.5 miles)
- I can swim more than a mile without stopping (currently do 1.5 miles of laps)
- I can do flip turns while swimming (all the fat kept me from tucking)
- Walk up and down stairs without needing the handrail
Goals not achieved yet:- Be able to hike for several hours with a full backpack
- Shop at regular stores in the Misses department (I can find a few things in places like Target and Kohls, but most are still a little too tight)
- Sit down on the floor and get up with ease (may not happen until I get a knee replaced )

reading these is giving me some good ideas for future goals
my current list:
-do an unassisted pull-up
-wear size 6 pants
-find a winter sport I enjoy
-stay medication-free as I age0 -
These are great!
1. Do an unassisted pull up. I finally got brave enough to try the assisted pull up machine last week and am more than half way to my goal weight.
2. I want to be able to steal clothes from my daughter's closet and wear them. Our styles don't really match but I'd like to know I could.
3. I want to wear jeans again. Not fat jeans that stretch, plain old Levis. It's probably been 20 years since I could.
Cool that several people want to skydive. I haven't been since I found out I was pregnant with our son (and he turns 20 in March) but it's an awesome sport. I made over 800 jumps and it's how I met my husband!0 -
Abs, full set of unassisted pullups (chinups), get through the winter without gaining weight0

I have a goal that is to be fit and nimble when I hit my elder years. I want to still be able to walk and dance with my wife and throw a ball around with my son. I've seen the effect on knees and hips and I'm doing my best to build up muscle to ensure I don't wear those joints out!0

2. Be more confident on the beach next summer.
3. Climb up Mount Snowdon0 -
I'd like to lift my butt onto my hands and bend my legs over to the floor in yoga this week.
If not this week, then the week after....
I'd like to stop wearing "I give up" clothes, and pick out something from my closet that I really like!
I'd like to sit comfortably and not make room for my budda belly.

1. Walk up stairs without being winded
2. Do things without having to think about if my weight will be an issue first (roller coasters, rock climbing, flying on a plane, sitting in a movie theater)
3. Be able to buy clothes anywhere
