Men tend to lose weight faster than women. Don't give up on yourself, the keys are just staying persistent with better eating and exercise.0

You really can't let that upset you. Especially so early in the game. The only competition you have is yourself. Remember that. Good luck to you.0

^^^^^This is too true. Measurements are even better! And there may be times you retain fluid when he won't. Never compare as everyone is different. You'll figure out what works for you and it will come off! Burn on!0 -
Why should it be a competition? If you guys love/care about each other you would not be in competition, but supporting each other instead. And if your relationship is based on vanity like weight loss, then you might need to think about whether or not you even want to be in the relationship. I would not tolerate anyone who would not accept me as a whole. Relationships should be a complement to your life not a crutch for your needs. You should be strong/independent and not need validation from others. Weight loss should never about "looking good". It is to be healthier and bring your life more into balance. If you make it solely about looking good then you will have problems ahead of you.0

What.. You should be happy for his accomplishments and focus on just doing the best you can do... It's not a race. It's a life change.

I think she is just venting frustrations in her not losing weight as fast a her BF.... not that her relationship is on the brink of ending over a few lbs??? Maybe i didn't read it correctly?0 -
Thank you everyone for all your encouragement and no @ljonesy311 you didn't read it wrong, we are both competitive people so we at just having a competition to keep the other motivated, soooo @LAMCDylan in no way is this have anything to do with the dynamics of our relationship and that it's even close to based on our outter apperances so idk where you even got that notion from my mini rant about my lack of weight loss this week in our friendly competition.0

Just keep at it! Everyone is different so my best advice would be to avoid sugar and sodium, drink plenty of water, keep exercising, and eat healthy. If you do those things weight loss will come, it may be slow, some weeks you may lose more than others. And don't always use the scale as your go to reference, as you gain muscle from working out, you may even slightly go up in weight. Muscle weighs more than fat, also remember muscle "eats" fat. Women tend to forget about the need for weight/resistance training because they are afraid it will make them bulky and muscular, you need muscle to really lose and keep fat off. Trust me, adding bulk is hard to do, i have been trying for a long time to add more muscle weight, on purpose, and it has been a real struggle.0
