To put on water weight, do I need to eat above maintenance in sodium or do I need to eat above my weight loss goals in MFP?
Wondering how this works, as I keep noticing the scale shooting up after I est certain things and I'm starting to realize how much sodium some of the stuff I'm eating now has compared to what I used to.

Sodium does cause temporary water weight gain, but you don't need to be above maintenance to gain said water weight.
A new (or increase in intensity of an old) workout routine can also cause temporary water weight gain.0 -
Heavy alcohol the night before can also put in temporary weight the next day or two.0

Water weight comes from many sources, not just sodium.0

Why would you WANT to add water weight??? Most folks try to lose it! Don't worry about sodium so much, but be sure to supplement with Potassium!0
