That's not evolving. It's been a relatively common practice among professional ballet dancers to remove at least the bottom two ribs.0

I guess evolving to the general public then. Didn't know that ballet dancers did it, but know that runaway models, jockeys, and other occupations where you need to be skinny or light, take extreme chances trying to keep up with their peers.
