Just as a tip: I have dozens (maybe scores) of saved recipes, and when I make something new, I'll skim through the list of saved recipes looking for one that is similar, that I might be able to add or delete a couple of ingredients and/or edit the quantity of some ingredients -- it saves a lot of time trying to check the database entries for accuracy when you're building a new recipe, since I've already checked them before.

For example, this Christmas I wanted to make a batch of "holiday tea cookies" from a recipe on the site of the manufacturer of the hazelnut meal/flour I was using, and it used almost exactly the same ingredients as a recipe I had saved in MFP for hazelnut shortbread. All I had to was tweak a couple of the quantities and change out granulated sugar for powdered sugar (and, technically, I didn't really need to do that for nutrition purposes, since I was weighing the sugar -- the nutrition values of 100 grams of powdered sugar and 100 grams of granulated sugar are the same).

I do this almost all the time when baking bread -- I look for the closest saved recipe that uses the same kind of flour (bread flour, all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, etc.) and/or any extras that might be in the recipe (e.g., cinnamon, raisins, walnuts, honey), and just tweak it to fit. Things like yeast, gluten, salt, that I use in pretty much all my bread recipes will already be there, and all I might to do is edit the quantities.

Obviously, you wouldn't want to write over a recipe that's part of your standard rotation of meals, or that you don't have the original of elsewhere, but I try a lot of recipes, and not all of them are keepers, or things that I would make exactly the same way the next time. So I don't generally delete MFP recipes just because I didn't care for them; I just wait for them to be useful by saving me some time in creating a new recipe.

BTW, you can edit the name of a recipe and the serving number, in addition to editing the ingredients and quantities.

    Best of luck.

Thank you so much! I will be checking other saved recipes for sure!
