I have over 300 calories left today to make my net. I don't feel like noshing on protein late at night to be honest. Is it bad if I have a bowl of cereal or something? That would be fantastic if I could. i don't want to kill my whole day at the end...and I know you want your calories to be GOOD..but I don't want to curl up on the couch tonight with an avocado. LOL! Thanks for your help. :-)

ORRRRRRRRR....can I kind of "use" this deficit tomorrow?

I would not. Unburned carbs turn to fat. Go with the protein.

Use it as a deficit for tomorrow, if you're not hungry don't eat. Eating carbs before bed slows down human growth hormone secretion when you sleep. Carbs don't help fat loss they hinder it. Unless you know what you're doing exactly, for example a performance athlete who knows about nutrition and how to maximize the effects of it.

Well, I was gonna say go ahead until I saw laddyboy's post and looked at his chisled (sp?) body and thought, well, I am wrong! That said, sometimes after a workout I have a protein shake with just half a scoop and put about 1/4 to 1/2 a cup of multigrain cheerios in it..gives me the satisfaction of a bowl of cereal, but also ups the protein!

Actually it does not work this way, you cannot "roll over" a deficit or excess into the next day. Every day is a completely new one, be short in calories today, one day won't make any difference.

You guys are confusing her! haha. Its ok to have whatever you like, just try to keep it healthy. Maybe some popcorn or a peanut butter and banana sandwich on whole grain bread. Grapes, apples, etc. Try to keep it clean and you will be fine. A calorie is a calorie no matter what time you eat it and healthy carbs from veggies, fruits and whole grains don't turn into fat. Plus, you are very active and you need those carbs. I am active also and need my carbs so you're good.

I eat carbs. Lot's of them and they never hurt/stunned/affected my weight loss or now since I have been maintaining once. I got to bed after eating cereal lots. It won't kill you why not enjoy what you want anyways. Carbs, protein or fat. ANYTHING in excess that is not used will in turn be stored mostly as adipose tissue or fat. Eat your cereal and go to bed happy :)

You have to keep in mind, "the best way to lose weight" are merely theories, not facts.

Normally I'd agree with you, but I burned 900 calories working out. ;-)

Time is a "concept" it's not real. A caloric deficit is a caloric deficit. Daily, weekly, monthly, yearly. If you reduce your caloric intake by 1000 calories (diarty deficit + exercise) in theory you will lose 2lbs a week. This is 8lbs a month. What if you INCREASED your caloric intake by1000 calories a day. this should result in a 8lbs weight gain a month.
