Help hiding veggies!

Prepping food to make things easier and healthier for me and my parents, too bad I have to figure out how to hide vegetables from them like they are children. Anyone have any recipes that have a serving of vegetables in it but you can't tell?

There are cookbooks out there for that. I think jerry Seinfelds wife wrote one. I bet you can Google or pinterest for successful veg hiding recipes. There's always v8 too that maybe with some experimenting could be added to tomato based things like pasta and pizza sauces.0

Chili, soups and stews are great places to hide veggies. Eating well has some great recipes on their website.0

Hidden Veggie pasta. We use that to get *something* healthy in my kid. Spaghetti sauce is a good veggie disguiser (chop them up fine). We tried shredding raw cauliflower into mac and cheese but no dice (it's smelly). The sweet potato pancakes from the Seinfeld book are pretty good.

Deceptively Delicious is her cook book. I have had a handful of them and they are pretty good.

If you either roast your cauliflower with garlic & olive oil, or cook it in water with a big glug of milk added that will change the flavour entirely. Then if you want it is easy to hide in mac&cheese. Thawing fish or shrimp in milky water will also take ANY fishy taste out.0

Put pureed veggies in meatloaf, meatballs or burgers.
Make soup using V8 (and beef or chicken stock if you want) as a base - add whatever veggies your parents will eat (if any) and some meat (cooked ground beef, leftover chicken or turkey, etc.) and noodles or rice.
Will they eat zucchini bread or chili, or are they completely anti-veg? What about sweet potato fries?0 -
I have the Deceptively Delicious cook book. None of the recipes I tried really worked. My son always noticed the change in flavor & then wouldn't eat. You might get away with it if you are making new foods for them, but you will not be able to sneak veggies into their normal foods.0

I think it's good practice to get them to eat and enjoy them. Kids need to develop a good relationship with healthy food. And it's easier to start young. As a mother of 4, I don't encourage hiding. Find new fun ways to cook them.0

I agree--but she is talking about grown ups.
You can add spinach or zucchini to so many things--a great nutrition boost, and they rarely change the taste of dishes.0
