Finally, a cleanse that fits my lifestyle

Four Texans pledged to eat nothing but tacos for one month. It's the inspiration for a book now available called The Taco Cleanse: The Tortilla-Based Diet Proven to Change Your Life.

Why tacos? They're "nature's perfect food," an author of the book told CultureMap. Margaritas are very much a part of the meal plan, notes the LA Times. What's not to like?

Alas, even this cleanse is a gimmick all about selling something, in this case, a book.

I have this cookbook, it has some delicious recipes. It inspired me to finally try making my own tortillas -- they were AMAZING.

It's also quite funny, which is a bonus.

That's awesome. My favorite Nuevo Tex-Mex cookbook has a wonderful sense of humor, too, so it's fun to just read, but it's my favorite because of the recipes. Thanks for commenting!

    Hahahahaha.

Also, homemade tortillas (from masa) are amazing. Sadly, I found they are rather disappointing the next day. I wonder if you can freeze the dough (or I guess I could just make fewer).

Being Spanish and living in New Mexico, I'm quite embarrassed that I don't how to make tortillas. Especially since my entire family does(also including my husband) and I'm a much better cook than all of them combined.
