I just started Keto a few weeks ago and would love some support from other Keto MFP users

Hi. I'm a 28 year old 6'0 tall female. I weight 182 lbs currently. I lost 3 lbs since I started the Keto WOE three weeks ago. I know it's only three pounds but that's also during the holidays so I'm ok with that. However, because I'm so tall and thickly built, I really only need to lose about 20 more lbs. If I can get down to 160, that would be awesome. I'm raising my goal to 175 lbs at first though so just see if I can get to that. I haven't bought the keto sticks yet to see if I'm in ketosis but I plan on doing that today. On a side note, I LOVE to workout or do anything active. I've always been an active person, but my body seems to be used to it and won't change at all which is the reason for the keto WOE. During a regular week I will do anywhere from a couple hours of boxing, 2 hours of volleyball (softball during the sunny seasons) and I run and workout and swim. I just starting training for my first Triathlon so I'm looking forward to the next few months and I hope my body changes for the better.

If there's any MFP users that would like to friend me on here that have an open diary, I would LOVE that. I need all the help I can get since I'm new to this WOE!

The main advice I have to not to worry about keto sticks. All they do is measure the excess ketones you are excreting, which is pretty irrelevant.

Yep nix on the stix. Sounds like you are overtraining. Too much Cortisol. Back off on the training, and count your calories carefully. Sutract another 100/day if no progress.

ditto. The keto group might be helpful too.

    Good luck.

Adjust grams of net carbs and protein until you find what works best for your body. Everyone is different. Eat smaller portions and frequently. Drink lots of water.

Agreed that cutting back on the workouts could help too. My body responds more rapidly to weight training and yoga/pilates than the typical cardio workouts. I would workout forever and see very little results - so frustrating!

I just purchased a ketone meter off ebay and will be testing after my foods to see if I get glucose spikes or not and eliminate those foods from my diet.

I did that not long after starting Keto myself and found it very helpful to identify foods that trigger BS spikes for me. I had to cut tomatoes due to a huge spike after eating them. I reccommend a BS and Ketone meter over the sticks even though they are more expensive.

I've been doing a Keto diet since October 2015 with quite a bit of success. Even with a 2 week "break" over the holidays I'm still down 22 pounds.
