    I was wondering why you'd cut out the dairy, since that is a source of protein. Then I saw the bloating comment, but I'm guessing if you're worried about lactose intolerance you'd check in with your doctor? Seems it'd be a shame to let go of the yogurt. :-)

    Every time I have soup, I'm soooo hungry an hour later. No mater what kind of soup. I could not do this method.
    It's also really high sodium, this diet.

    Sounds like you've decided to skip the soup diet.

    I think people were mostly pointing out that without eating protein (and fat), you will probably feel very hungry... which is usually a trigger for stuffing one's face haha. And they were pointing out that on some of the days, the milk was the only higher protein source.

    Plus I would guess the human body processes liquids quicker than solids... so you're likely to get hungrier faster based on that assumption.

    I have to admit that when I cut dairy I feel good. But I am allergic to dairy so...
    And also I significantly reduced pasta when I started and felt really good after I did. But that's because I went from eating pasta for 2 to 3 meals a day to maybe 2 to 3 a week. The issue for me wasn't eating it in general, it was just that I was eating it too much (and not much else).

    There's no need for the torture, really. :) Keep using MFP as intended and lose at a safe rate. Those soup diets will have you hating soup for almost an eternity, and, all they do is cause hangriness....NOT cool. Be happy and eat the calories given to you. If you want to eat more food and keep your deficit, do some cardio.

    Carb cutting isn't necessary for weight loss. If fluid retention is an issue for you, just increase your water intake and stay under the sodium intake for the day. Also, if I eat too much bread, I feel crappy and bloated. I still eat bread, but not like it is going to cease to exist tomorrow. Too much of anything can make anyone feel like crap. If yogurt has been bothering you, try a lactose free (iogo probio comes to mind).

    Make this a journey that you'll enjoy, not one you'll regret...

    I know! I would cry for days if I wasn't allowed greek yogurt anymore!

    If you're mildly lactose intolerant you can still have dairy, just take lactaid pills. Try to confirm that the dairy is actually a problem first.

    If you love them, then why would you ever cut them out of your diet? It kind of sounds like you've fallen for a few hyped up fad diet ideas. The whole carbs are bad/anti glutton craze.

    Yes I probably have...I am thinking maybe I would "feel better" if I did an experiment by avoiding them. But yes I would never want to avoid them unless it gave me a great benefit by avoiding them.

    Foods are not healthy or unhealthy. Diets are. You can have a diet made up of so-called "good foods" that is extremely unhealthy - for example an all-vegetable diet that lacks sufficient protein or vitamin B12 would be terribly unhealthy, in fact it would be fatal eventually.

    I looked at your pictures. And while they aren't full body, you can clearly see your collar bones, you do not have a second, third, or fourth chin. There are no obvious signs of extra weight AND your food diary is empty. If you want to go on a soup diet, go for it. But you don't seem to really be doing it to lose fat. It seems more like an attempt for attention.

    I don't know if she means a BMI of 22-23, or a bodyfat percentage of 22-23% (because BMI isn't measured in percentage and has no correlation whatsoever to bodyfat). Either way, a BMI of 22-23 is within the normal range and a BF% of 22-23 is within the "fitness" range for a woman.

    I decided not to do it and guess what happend last night omg! I got home from work after having soup 3 times and i gorged on crackers and coupe cookies, then some suckers the fries and nuggets with sauce then Subway for a bed snack!

    Yes my collar bones are visable :) I meant 22-23% for fat percentage on my body. It seems to sit in back of thighs and belly for me....I hoping too much that the soup diet would help - I had a dumb moment lol.

    Healthy calories, balanced diet, cardio, weights for me! I want the fat gone cause I am a good weight so....focus on diet first then weights then cardio.

    What crime did you commit to be punished so?

    I have diabetes type 1. I will eat these later though, in a month or so. I just wanna try life without. It really helps manage diabetes by avoiding these too so...

    If you have diabetes, I would think it's even more important to adhere to a healthy diet rather than a restrictive one. I'm not diabetic, but wouldn't that cause problems with your blood sugar? Might also have played into why you gorged on unhealthy foods. Of course, anyone who's restricting themselves like that would eat ALL THE COOKIES after a few days.

    Nope, you adjust your insulin for it. But yes I agree, prob all the cookies be gone!!!

    Bloating...I feel bloated and super full a lot after eating bread, so I rarely eat it. Makes me uncomfortable, especially sitting at my desk at work. I eat lots of grains from other sources.

    If you are considering doing an elimination diet it's really important to use logs. Have you done them before? When determining hidden food allergies we use 14 day diet logs. You log everything you eat, and also log symptoms you experience after your meal. You also log medication. Then the allergist reviews it to see if there is any patterns. Once you complete this log you decide from it what to allergy test. An intolerance is addressed in basically the same way. The important part is to eat normally, and track normally.

    It might be helpful to talk to your doctor about doing one. They are easier if you have someone who is trained that can help you. Especially since you are also diabetic they will know what is a typical symptom from your medication.

    What? I never said 4 days of soup then 1500 calorie days of an Elimation Diet.

    It was acutally 1 morning and afternoon of soup then pig out and now im eating 1500 cals a day but im not having any "junk" (take it as you like)til the end of the month. I will work treats back in...I had too many treats over the holiday and don't deserve any for January!

    I eat mostly "healthy" foods. I make room for treats while losing weight, because I figure knowing portion sizes and calories are before I get to maintenance will be helpful.
