Cheat days, what's yours like

I typically make one day or two a week as a cheat day. I'm a new Vegan and before was a Vegetarian. I eat perfectly healthy and honestly it's something that works for me. What are yours like?

My cheat days are usually on Saturday because we have "the guys" over for game night. We usually get pizza and I'll make some sort of dessert. They are not hugely over the top but I'm always up a couple of pounds the day after.0

A cheat day for me is when I don't eat my vegetables, because maybe I'd rather spend all my calories on a piece of cheesecake and 10 cups of coffee with cream. Only now I'm making low carb cheesecake that contains no sucrose, so I can have even more coffee and cream. Then I go back to eating my veggies and meat, my less favorite foods.0

I don't have cheat days. I make what I want fit in my weekly calories... so I'll eat less 6 days a week and eat a bit more on the 7th day.0

You cheat days are sad. Seriously y'all need to live a little-3

I eat all I want in moderation on my cheat day and I add a glass or two of wine.0

I don't need cheat days. I get plenty of high calorie days when I have PMS... Like 3000 calories for 3 days or something. The rest of the time I have no problem fitting what I want in my weekly calories.
When I have cheat days, it's during vacations, birthday, or Holidays, and I can easily eat 3500 calories or more.0 -

Different strokes. I have fun fitting into my size 0 dresses instead of eating whatever I want.0 -

I'm the other way around lol. I'd rather be a bit chubby (barely) than to stop eating my chocolate and cookies!0 -
Non existent0

I find I can be my ideal size and eat whatever I want by eating whatever I want within my calorie allowance0 -
I don't do cheat days. Cheat implies you're doing something wrong and it makes you long and crave for the next. Nope, not for me.
I make what I want fit into my goal. If it doesn't, I exercise to burn it off or I eat less another day or few days to accommodate it. I eat what I want, when I want, how I want. I don't do deprivation.0 -
So far.... today... after weigh in, with a cappuccino and subway egg white, cheese, veggies and a small bag of chips. I still get my fruits, veggies, milk in but I also get more carbs today than I normally would.0

Don't really get the concept as I'm not cheating anyone, including me, by eating more some days than others or enjoying good food.
To me the idea sounds like restriction most days and freedom only a few days - that wouldn't be a happy or sustainable long term routine for me.0 -
i try not to look at it as a cheat day
but i do have days where i eat a crap load more than usual even though im already doing the "i fit whatever i want into my calories" thing everyone is always going on about
so yea i have very high calorie indulgence days sometimes...but its ok im chubby & don't have a size 0 dress to fit into

I look at my calorie intake as a weekly thing. Some days are low cal days, so that when I want something indulgent, I can. I am always (95% of the time) within my weekly calorie goal.
It's a workable, realistic plan for me. I'd say I'm living well.0 -
I won't cheat until I reach my goal.0
-
I work treats in or I bank exercise calories to 'save up' for higher calorie occasions.
Sometimes I eat more than I'd planned or just think 'to hell with it' but as long as these days are occasional I don't see much of a problem with it. Doesn't seem to affect my weight - I'd imagine it all evens out over time.0 -

That's exactly how I do my cheat days, which is what the OP calls sad. The rest of time I aim for optimal nutrition within my calorie allowance.0 -

Optimal nutrition? Surely it's easier to get your macros and micro nutrients if your calorie allowance is larger, I don't see the point in the differentiation? Have I missed something?0 -
I normally have one indulgent meal every now and then, but I alter it so it won't "break the bank" so to speak. For example if I want a cheeseburger, I eat a cheeseburger, but I make better choices about the burger. Like I get no mayo and only eat half my fries. That way if I do go over it's not like 1,000 calories over my goal for the day. I don't do whole cheat days; I think that's an easy way to back slide into old habits.0

What are you asking? I would have more flexibility if my calorie allowance were larger, but then I wouldn't be eating at maintenance. So if I want to eat a dessert that has 800 calories, I can do it, and that's a day that I'm probably not going to meet my macros or my micros, but I'll stay within my calorie allowance. If I ate whatever I wanted within my calorie allowance all the time, I would eat cheese instead of vegetables.0 -
I've certainly had days where I go over my calories by choice but I don't have cheat days, I just know that since I'm eating below maintenance, having a day that I go over every once in awhile doesn't matter whatsoever.0

I'm not sure cheating day is making much sense. If I have a day where my workout is extensive I may not eat 'those' calories til the next day. Not sure I get too concerned about being over or under by too much in any one day. I may have a decade view and this is probably unhealthy when I read this thread.0

i cheat once or twice a week and usually go over about 400 to 700 calories. i usually just eat more food instead of sweets. sweets make me feel tired, etc..0
-
I don't have cheat days. I give myself a little treat every day that stops my chocolate cravings and i'm having fun experimenting with new foods and flavours instead of eating bland things. Today I was excited about avocado on toast! xD0
-
I think I cheat every day but in good moderation. My actual cheat days are when I eat way over my calorie goal.0
-
I try to eat within my calorie and macro range most days. I pick one "free" day a week where I eat whatever I want and don't plan or track. I do my free day within a few guidelines. There must be at least seven days between free days, meaning if Saturday is my free day then I cannot have another free day until the following Saturday at the earliest. I also try to limit it more to a free meal but again, it's a go with the flow day. So if I eat a doughnut for breakfast, I'm not going to make myself eat salad for the rest of the day.0
