Weight gain in older women

Hello, I am a 63 year old female trying to get the weight off. Any other older women out there wanting to get and stay slimmer? We all know it's harder as you get older.

Oh boy! I relate in a HUGE way.. :) . I am 72 and need to lose another whole person to be a healthy weight, so the doctor says. I am tall, so really was surprised to wake up one day and find that my weight gain actually had begun to SHOW. Tall women can get considerably heavier before they begin to look overweight. Now that aging is becoming apparent, the changes are confusing enough on their own without adding in the weight issue. I hope to find people with similar things they are coping with, so we can kvetch and encourage, bolster and support!

Bigger blouses don't hide my midriff anymore. My large rib cage has become one grand curve down to my pelvis! and my arms look like hams. Bummer. Some fat women keep thin arms, but I'm not one of those lucky girls. So back to the treadmill again. Or at least walks around the block? And healthy food? Less unhealthy food? No sugar and many fewer starches?

Is there a forum for older women here? I'll look to see. If not maybe we can start one? HELP!!!

Right there with you! I'm turning 60 this year and have been inactive the past 7.5 years after an auto accident. I need to lose at least 65 pounds. I lost 50, then the next year gained it all back and need to do it again but keep it off. I would love to have some older women, like me, on my feed. My tummy used to be flat even after 3 children, but now, I am very big in the middle and everywhere else.

Hi, I am in my 50's and looking to lose about 50 lbs. It's not only body image, but health. I need to be more active and am looking for friends who know what it is like to not have the metabolism we use to :) Feel free to add me! Best of luck to all!
