Body fat scales tanitia please help

Hi how correct are they, my weight loss in dropping but so is my muscle mass and my body fat is staying the same can anyone help?

    Well in general, electrical impedance body fat scales are one of the least accurate ways to measure body fat percentage. They're even less accurate than calipers.

    I understand they are out up to 5% (or so I was told) my problem I have according to the scales is my weight is coming down and so is my muscle mass but my bf is staying roughly the same give 1 or 2 % each week

    How quickly are you losing weight? How much protein are you consuming daily? Are you implementing a strength training program?

    I don't go to the gym but do some hiit sessions at home with light dumb bells and ride a mountain bike cross country trail riding sort of thing. And having protien shakes for breakfast and lunch protien snakes in-between and a healthy dinner so around 120g /150g protien 100g carbs

    It's very possible that you're losing muscle since you're not lifting heavy on a regular basis. Also, I don't know how much you weight, but you should try not to lose more than 1% of your body weight per week if you want to retain muscle, for example if you're 200 lbs, try not to lose more than 2 lbs per week, etc.

    I wouldn't be concerned with 2 lbs lost per week, that's good, 3 is too fast. The more concerning thing for you when it comes to muscle loss is the lack of heavy lifting. If you're truly concerned about retaining as much muscle as possible when you lose weight, you have to start lifting heavy.
