I started seriously tracking my calories 2 weeks ago. I'm 100 lbs overweight and aiming for 1-1.5 lbs per week for now.

The first week, I went from 239 - 232.5, so 6.5 lbs. I knew most was water, but I'd never purposely tried to lose weight and to see that I COULD do it gave me so much hope.

This morning, my second weekly weigh-in, I jumped out of bed eager to see what I'd lost this past week. I was disappointed to see it was only 232, so .5 lb loss. I'm happy with any loss, really. But I immediately started thinkin, "hmm, maybe I'll take a few days off. Y'know, for a morale boost."

I really don't know why, but when I was at Walmart, I didnt buy any junk food. I went to the deli and got my husband a single plate meal and decided not to get one for myself. Instead, I got a subway sandwich that fits into my calorie goals for the day.

These boards have shown me that it's possible to lose the weight. It's possible to be happy and satisfied without gorging myself on food. It's possible to make small decision, weekly, daily, and even hourly, that will bring me where I need to be.

I wanted to thank everyone who posts here and has shared their journeys so openly.

ETA: I bought a new scale at Walmart today (I was borrowing the other one) and stepped on it for ha-has. I knew I wouldn't record that weight because it wasn't the same time as my other weigh ins, but it was 228. That's a number I never thought I'd see. So, even though it's not officially recorded, it was a great thing to see.

Agree with the others, no victory is a small one. Keep up the great work and stay positive. You will have this before you know it
