Losing weight is the main thing that helps non alcohol related fatty liver.
Also try to keep your saturated fats low but don't skip good fats like nuts and seeds.
Adding turmeric to your food is reported to have some benefits but this is still very much in the research stages. Can't harm to add a bit to your vegetables.0 -
I also have been diagnosed with a fatty liver. I went to a specialist who told me to eat lots of vegetables and fruits that are on my be careful list for kidney stones. I was also told no alcohol and no pain killers.0

My Mom was told the same thing, no pain killers, no alcohol, watch sodium and fat in take.0 -
Drink a cup of hot water with lemon on an empty stomach first think. Limit animal based protein.0

My doctor advised me to take Milk Thistle for this issue and to squeeze lemon on my salads.0

My doctor just told me to lose weight. If I lose fat I will lose it everywhere. Not sure if she is right.
just wanted to add: I don't have any symptoms, irregular labs, it just showed up on an unrelated test0 -
My liver lab values were messed up for years. My doctor told me I had fatty liver. I was tested for all liver diseases and nothing showed up. I read an article in a magazine that said to detox your liver, you eat 5 different colors of fruit a day for one month. I figured, what could it hurt? I did it for one month, no specific fruit just what I had at the house, five different colors, and ate like I always do. The next time after that, when I had blood drawn at the doctors, all my liver levels were normal. They have stayed normal for 2 years. I,m just saying it worked for me.

My uncle had this problem, what helped him was drinking a glass of beetroot and lemon juice every day.
As far as recipes goes a great one is: potato, cod, spinach, garlic - all together cooked in water and served as sort of soup with a little bit of salt.
I like to drink both the juice and eat this soup even tho I have no liver problems, they're just yummy

Oh I forgot to say, if you never drank beetroot juice before try mixing an apple with it, it makes it easier to drink. Also don't be surprised if your urin or stool change color to slightly red, since the beet has such an intense color, it can sometimes happen.0

Every recipe will help to fix your fatty liver. Just eat less of it.0

My professor in Nutritional Medicine said the liver loves to be working - bitter things are good - endive, dandelions, etc in fixin' her up. Also - milk thistle supplement.

I too was diagnosed with a fatty liver. I had to cut way back on fried foods and eat more whole grains, fresh veggies and fruits. I feel so much better when I eat this way! I even had to back off of breads and starches. I would eat clean recipes if I were you. And if you have a juicer or mixer, make some healthy shakes using almond milk, spinach, frozen banana, greek yogurt and peanut butter if you like. Makes a good quick breakfast or snack. One of my favorite clean easy meals to make is a veggie power bowl! 4 oz. Diced cook chicken breast, 1/2 cup of brown rice, a cup of fresh steamed or roasted veggies, and 2 Tbsp. Of hummus. Stir and enjoy!1
