Hello!

Decided to join here so I did. I am not overweight but I am soooooo out of shape. I have never been in shape, to be honest.

I have no idea how I will get in shape, I have thought of aerobics to do at home, like, as a start, and maybe some strength training. I'm not sure what exercises I should do. I have bad posture and have had that since I was 9, so that is an obvious one (back-exercises, I mean), but other than that, I'm not sure.

Anyone have any suggestions to a good youtube aerobics workout? Like, that one just follows their movements for 30 min -1h? When I search I mostly find videos of people dancing, haha. It looks fun, but I'm not sure how effective aerobics in dance-form is. (maybe it works?)

This will be the first time I post, I'm not sure if my numbers show anywhere or not so I'll just post them here:

I am around 56-57 kg now, and I am 168 cm long. I don't actually have to lose any weight, but I think I probably will for a start since I have so much more fat than muscles (haha).

Cheers!

Walking, running, swimming and weight lifting are all great exercises to help you get in shape. :) No videos needed.

I do a great deal of walking, but running is not for me, at least not now. It is snow and ice outside. I will not be going to a gym, so weight lifting is a bit limited to me, but I am considering buying a kettlebell :)

I will still look for a video of somekind of aerobics workout, they look fun and I don't want to avoid working out because I feel like it is no fun in it. I am good at avoiding things, so finding something that I enjoy would probably make this a lot easier!

    I really enjoy Power 90 - it's a bit dated, but I like it.

I liked watching the Jane Fonda step aerobics workout that is on youtube, looks to be a bit dated too, but I suppose that doesnt matter. I will look it up, thank you :)

Good luck  It will be such a huge change to my life to get healthy and active, maybe I am expecting too much change in how I will feel, but still, I think it will be wonderful. I am so new so I have no idea how to add people, haha.

    Hey Erika!
I also started MFP to mostly just get in shape and get toned up, I didn't really have much weight to lose. It really helped me tho to get closer to my goals.
I do running or swimming for cardio, and mostly home workouts instead of weights. I would suggest pilates to get toned up. It is also great for your back.
If you are a beginner I would suggest you Blogilates by Cassey, she has a 30 day beginner calendar to get you started with pilates. It requires around half an hour per day.
Feel free to add me and message me if you have any questions, need tips or support :) Good luck!

Thank you for your answer  Nice to hear from someone that had similar goals! How long did it take for you before it "hit you" that everything is so much easier? Like... when did you notice (big time) that you were in better shape?
Pilates seem to be quite a lot of movements lying down in different positions, I wouldn't have a problem with that if it wasn't for that I want to see the computer screen to mimic what the person does. Guess I could have it on the floor next to me, haha. Seems very calm, pilates. Oh, and I've bookmarked her before! Long long ago, when I failed to even start to try get in shape... *tries to forget about that*

I have no idea how to add people here, but it would be nice to add you (and the other person that offered that) I am not sure if I would dare to send private messages with questions, feels like I would annoy people, but I guess if I am very confused I could! (necessity knows no law)

How strange, I found the "Add Friend" button now, right where I looked before and didn't see any! I sent requests to both of you
