Is it bad to eat bread when trying to lose weight? I always eat whole grain, but have read many people cut it altogether.

Bread is not inherently bad.
You can still eat bread and lose weight. Fit it into your calorie goal and enjoy it.0 -

Eliminating bread is just another way to reduce calories. There's nothing bad about it when losing weight as long as you (like anything) properly log the calories.0

Weight loss comes down to calories .
I've eaten bread every single day throughout my weight loss process and throughout maintaining for 2+ yrs.
Don't believe the hype. People with certain medical conditions must limit or monitor carbs for health reasons. This doesn't mean carbs make people gain or prevent them from losing.

Only if you want to. I rarely eat bread but it's not because of weight loss reasons, I'm just not a fan of breads.0

Personal preference. Plenty of people keep bread in their diet and lose weight. Some people switch to lower cal bread options. And some feel better or find it easier to cut it out entirely. It's all about what you find best for you.0

I think it depends. If bread is your "vice" then maybe reducing your intake could be wise. I could eat toast with marmite until there is no tomorrow, but the calories soon add up. We now bake our own. I can control what goes into it.0

You don't need to cut anything out of your diet to lose weight.
You just have to eat everything in moderation, and keep logging
Unless eating bread is giving you some discomfort, or causing some medical issues there is no need for you to remove it.
It would be better if you could eat whole grain, but if you can't just eat it in moderation and you will be fine0 -
Some people cut it to lower calories. What happens when you add it back in?
Learn to track calories, eat better, move more.
Bread isn't bad. Sometimes cutting it can help. But it is always better to learn long term habits.0 -
Personal choice
I chose not to...cos toast0 -
I eat bread often, just less of it.0

For the sake of losing weight? Unless you're limiting carbs, and eliminating bread helps you with that, it's not necessary. That said: keep eating the whole grain bread if you eat bread. Small steps lead to positive results, and choosing whole grain (assuming it really is), is a good step toward a nutrient dense diet.0

I find if I eat bread my tummy swells up so I tend to avoid it, I also make better food choices as sandwiches are just an easy option imo.
Do what's right for you and listen to your body.0 -

Anyone that says bread is not bad is clueless. It's terrible, and Toxic. It converts to sugar, and the bromide it contains destroys your Thyroid by staving it of Iodine. Bad stuff - do not consume - period.0
