Hi guys
Initially I lost 7lbs in 2 weeks.... Now my weight loss seems to have stalled. I am on 1200 calories a day. I go over rarely, and if I do, it's by maybe 50 calories. I workout (I either run or go for a long walk) at least 3 times a week. I'm 147lbs and 5ft 4. Do you guys sometimes have a week where you don't lose? Is this normal on 1200 calories?? I would expect regular weight loss on such a low calorie count. I do eat my exercise calories, but I believe that's ok? Thanks

You tend to lose a lot of weight in water the first couple weeks.

How long has your weight loss stalled? Perhaps try not eating back your exercise calories for a few weeks and see if that makes a difference.

It's only been a week with no loss, it's just left me a bit disheartened, I think I will maybe try not to eat all of my exercise calories- thanks

If it's only been a week then you're probably doing fine. There may be weeks when you don't lose anything, as long as it's an overall downward trend the diet is working.

Deciding not to eat exercise calories because you didn't see the scale drop for one week is not a good plan. Your body weight will fluctuate due to hormonal changes that happen throughout your menstrual cycle. In general, these happen on two week cycles (i.e., the average menstrual cycle is 28 days, you ovulate in the middle of that cycle, many women see water weight gain both at ovulation and at the onset of their periods.) Your weight can also fluctuate due to the type of food you eat--salty food, more carbs than usual, you're going to see more water retention. You need to look at the big picture of how your body works and not simply making choices based on what you see at the scale.
