Running My First 5K!

Hey all!
So, thanks to my best friend, I have officially decided to get involved with a 5K this year!
We signed up for Color Me Rad. I figured that we should take a "fun" run that wasn't too serious that way if we didn't do well, we wouldn't be too hard on ourselves.
I have been running multiple times per week using the C25K app, and it's actually been super helpful.
I'm not really looking to make a record time - more of a starting point. Trying to stay in it when running 8 minutes straight today was HARD though!
Someone tell me that it does eventually get better!!!
Overall though, I'm pretty excited and I really hope that I can shine out there - even if it's only for myself!

Hooray! I've never used the C25k app, but I've heard it's very good.
It gets easier, it really really does. I couldn't run more than 5 minutes nonstop when I first started running, and I hated it. Now, yes there are days I have "bad" runs, but mostly I love it and it's become such an important part of my life. I'm a happier person when I run0 -
I just finished C25K and did not think I would be able to do the 35min, but lo and behold, it came and went and I kept running, even after it was done. I think the app pushes you far enough that each week as you come along you can cope with it.
I did find it really hard if I was having a tired day or whatever though, still did it too.0 -
I'm on week 2 of C25k--it was rough today, but am looking forward to my first 5k as well The good news is you ran 8 minutes straight!!0
