my bulk I was going to push for through April has to come to an end): still looking lean, but not lean enough for my job and the slow cut begins now or else I don't work (as much lol): excited to see the gains made though! Going to run a small deficit and see how I respond. Lean bulked for about 4-5 months. I felt the need to vent my sadness): lol that is all...

How much weight did you gain over the last 4-5 months during your lean bulk?0
-
About 10-12 lbs(weight fluctuations changed based on what I ate daily). Still looking lean and I really needed to gain the weight in terms of health as well, but I'm also holding onto quite a bi of water. I might just find my maintenance and stick there just to drop the water. I've been eating 450+ carbs and been sodium heavy on this bulk, so I'm hoping the reduction in carbs and sodium will release a good amount of water. I'm happy with the progress I made though. I just wanted to bulk for at least 6-8 months before I cut. Ill see how I look at maintence for a couple weeks, then weigh my options. Maybe a mini cut and then bulk again, but I hate doing that. We will see!0

What's your job that you need to be that lean?0

I'm on a Bulk as well, been eating about 4,000 to 5,000 calories a day for 3 weeks and instead of gaining I'm losing weight. Frustrating!!!0

It is sad indeed. Coming off a bulk always depresses me. What bf% did you have to stop at due to your career?0

I just finished my 5 month bulk as well. It sucks. Looking forward to the next bulk which I'll try to drag on for 6+ months!0

I'm sad because I gained like 10 pounds in two months eating a measly 2000 calories (plus a crap ton extra on the holiday I guess).
Boo to and early end to your bulk though.0 -

Makes sense, I was assuming that was it but thought I'd ask to be sure. What's your max BF% you could hit?0 -

They don't really regulate or give you a bf to stay under, it's all about how your looking from the eye/ your image. I had to start gaining weight initially for health reasons cause my body fat got way too low. I'm guess right now I'm probably at 10-12%. When I started my bulk I was around 5-6%. It was an awful feeling. I was stupid, but this industry sometimes leads you to that kind of state. I'm definitely never going to drop that low again. I'll probably see how I look after a couple pounds lost. My body also likes to carry water in my lower abs. My upper abs are perfectly fine and still defined, as well as my obliques. A little fluffiness, but not much at all. It's just that little lower ab portion holding on to a little water and fat. I'll probably end up doing a mini cut then maintaining or a very very slight cut til I'm satisfied, then maintain through summer.0 -

I was more or less the same as you in terms of body fat % when I started bulking. Didn't look right did it. When I finished bulking I was between 12-15% and like you was sad when the bulking came to an end. I just switched over to maintenance and attempting a very slow recomp to get the body fat down a wee bit as I didn't want to "cut" and lose all the food.0 -

Getting down to 5% is very dangerous for your health. Even body builders only maintain that for a couple weeks before packing it back on. Some guys can genetically be fine under 10% but most can't especailly as they get older.0 -

Water weight is a crazy thing....already dropped 6+ lbs. I decided not to track on this cut and just kinda guesstimate due to anxiety from tracking but I think I'm under eating a little and don't want to lose the gains I made! I'll see my weekly moving average and debate on tracking or not. Feeling pretty good though. I've noticed though that some small skin issues have been clearing up since I've stopped my bulk! Same diet and everything, just less of it lol. But everything is going good and running a hypertrophy program for this cut to try and maintain size!(: thinking of doing a 2 month moderate deficit (250-500 cals) then maintaining through summer. We will see. Nice to see some of that water gone already though!:D0

How much cardio are you doing? If it is a lot revise your cardio. I'm eating 3500 calories and am slowly gaining. I am in the weight gym 6 days a week and do two 30 minute steady state cardio routines. Hope this helps.
Cheers

It may be worth finding out your true maintenance and not over cutting. It seems you're going too fast.
When you know your true numbers you can bulk and cut WITHOUT anxiety. That's a beautiful thing!0 -

I do have my true maintenance, I just decided not to track this cut due to previous experience with anxiety and obsession over it. I also was intuitively eating cause I was with family for a little over a week and not stressing, but was under eating during that time. I went back to my routine diet I had when bulking and just made minute changes like 1 serving of oats instead of two. Half a sweet potato instead of whole. Water in my oats instead of cashew milk.....just little small changes while getting moving averages in my weight. I'll adjust my portions depending on that weigh in(: I increased after that big drop, but I due tend to hold onto a lot of water. So when I reduced those carbs and sodium, it flew off!
