Ive been on and off diet and exercise plans nothing seems to work. I can run and do cardio but never seems like I can loose weight. I need help and support and any advice you can give.

If you're doing cardio, then the problem lies in the food choices you make. First thing you need to do is set your calorie limit for the day. MFP will help you depending on how active you are and how much you would like to lose on a weekly basis. Then make sure you log all of your food, snacks included. Be more mindful of the food choices you make and try to stick within your calorie goals for the day. To lose weight, you have to burn more calories than you take in.

Have you tried adding in some weight training? Cardio is good for the heart and can burn calories, but building some muscle is also essential to aid in weight loss.

Yes to both. I'm logging my food calories and started to weight lift. I wish personal trainers weren't so expensive. I just want to have a great body and wear a bikini.

For whom do you want to have a great body and wear a bikini? Yourself? Someone you're romantically involved with? Society?
Do it for yourself, if you want to do it at all. Also, make sure to eat nutritionally dense food. Looking good isn't worth feeling bad.

You say you have been on and off and nothing works. How long do you stay "on" before you decide it's not working?
Have you tried calorie counting? Weighing and measuring everything? If you do that, and stay within your goals, it works. Cardio/weight training are great extras, but losing weight comes down to diet. Calories In Calories Out. Works every time.

I was like you for the past year. I finally decided to stick with it and I'm down 9lb. You won't get smaller overnight. Listen to the mfp advise, they've been there done that. I now weigh my food and count everything that goes into my mouth.

I can assure you, a great body is not required to wear a bikini...even a mediocre body is not a requirement...

U all are the best. Weigh my food why does that matter? I think calorie counting is hard enough lol. I usually quit after 30 days. Most I've lost was 3 lbs. It seems the only way I loose weight is when I did two a day when I was deployed but it's not practical w family life. I do want to feel better for myself be able to wear what I want and feel good about it. I still think I look good naked lol.

A food scale makes a huge difference. So does consistency. Losing 3 pounds in 30 days is pretty good; the problem is that you stop after those 30 days. Plus, weight loss is mostly diet rather than exercise; you can't out-run a bad diet.

Thats true. I just wish I didn't love food so much!

In that case, pick a small deficit that you can stick with in the long term, that still allows you to eat all of your favorite foods (just maybe in smaller servings). If your options are to make yourself miserable for 30 days, lose maybe a pound per week and then give up, or lose 0.5 pounds per week and stay on the diet for 4 months, you'll be better off taking the second option.
