Little help with working out

I'm not sure why but this motivated me so much more when I found this out. this maybe common sense for many but for others who don't know 1 pound = 3500 calories. if you work out every day & burn 500 calories (500x7=3500) you could lose up to 1 pound each week. If anybody else has anything else they want to add please be free.

That would add up to 2.5 hr exercise per day of straight cardio for me.
I honestly couldn't do that and be friendly. Others without my weight, height, and age limitations may find eating at maintenance and using exercise as their deficit a manageable goal. I wouldn't.

    Cheers, h.

Not sustainable for 7 days for me. That would be a 60 min run every day, or 75 mins spinning every day, or even 80 mins of circuit training. Given I work and like to have some sleep, I couldn't do it. I tried it one week, and ate right, and lost 0.3lbs...not worth it!

It's better to give yourself a couple of rest or active recovery days per week to let your body rest and repair so that you can go harder on the days you do work out.

Pretty sure that's not being communicated correctly. You don't need to burn the 500 per day via exercise alone, or exercise at all even. It's about a 500 calorie deficit per day whether done by exercise, calorie restriction, or a combination of the two.

    Personally I love the 1 lb = 3500 cals.
For me I mix deficit and exercise to achieve it and I'm really glad it motivated you, just don't take it all in exercise, mix it up a little.

Me too, Ian. One day I'll eat 300 calories short and exercise 200, the next day I'll eat 1000 short and exercise 150, the next day I'll eat 500 short and exercise 200. That mostly fasted day every third or fourth day does me wonders. I'll just eat a big 1000-1200 calorie dinner and that food is the best food I've ever had. Lol Even just plain ole grilled chicken and veggies is heaven after fasting most of the day.

    This is true too!

That's assuming you don't eat back the calories. ;)
