Hello just looking for some people to help with motivation or sharing workout tips and such. I have three children under the age of 6. I have no time to go to a gym so I do my best at working out at home. I usually do my workouts after kids are in bed, but sometimes I'm just ready to crash

Hello KELLYCREV and welcome. Currently pregnant with my third and working out at home works best for me as well. Three under the age of 6, no wonder you are ready to crash! Not to worry, sneak in little exercises while doing other chores. That is what I always tell everyone. For instance, while I'm cooking at the stove I sneak in 5 squats while waiting for it to come to a boil, I also walk to the fridge/cabinet for every item individually while cooking instead of gathering it all at once. It adds little to prep time but it adds to your daily steps. Also, if time permits, I used to take my toddlers/infants and use their play time with me as a workout. Babies love to be rocked, tossed, swooped, lifted, or whatever gets them laughing. That playtime is a great workout for you and allows you to connect thru play. My other two kids are grown so I am looking forward to a new one to work out with. My sons favorite was when I was laying on the floor on my back with my knees up, I would place him on my shins and kick them up and down at least twenty times. As he grew, the workout got harder because his weight increased. This was part of our routine from 6 months until he was about 4 years old! Works your abs and thighs. Attached is a link for other exercises you can do that involve your kids. http://www.parents.com/parenting/moms/healthy-mom/mommy-and-me-workout/ and http://www.thebump.com/a/9-ways-to-work-out-when-you-have-toddler
Hope this helps. Do not be discouraged. Best to you!0 -

I've read alot of moms count the play time as workouts.....have you really noticed it pays off. I am really a routine person and sometimes only feel accomplished with an actual workout. I guess it's something I need to adjust to haha. Ahhhh you'd think I'd be able to do this by now! Thanks for the encouragement and tips. I'm looking forward to all the help from some new friends and returning it to you guys! Thanks again
