I thought I was the only one who did this!!0 -
My solution: Ditch the crappy air popper. Pop the corn in a pot on the stove in coconut oil. Put olive oil, garlic and Parmesan cheese on it. That is my favorite (hangover) snack.0

I add ground Rosemary and nutritional yeast to mine. The nutritional yeast adds a nutty cheesy flavor0

I make huge bowls of popcorn for movies at home (to feed 3-4 people). I use about 2 T. melted Kerrygold butter and several shakes of salt. I wouldn't mess with this combo for all the world.0

I eat a lot of popcorn so here are some of my favorites:
Franks red hot (I find the acidic flavor really satisfying)
Balsamic vinegar/reduction (acidic like above)
a little powdered sugar and cinnamon (can also use powdered stevia etc)
nutritional yeast
chili pepper (with a spritz of lime if you want)
Popcorn flavorings from the store add a lot and aren't too many calories
Parmesan cheese and chives
Garlic powder and chives
Almost any spice mixes will taste great:
Italian seasoning
Garam Masala
Taco seasoning0 -
So interesting that someone made this thread. I was thinking about it last night. I eat popcorn everynight. I pop mine in a microwave popper, although I do like the idea of popping it on the stove in coconut oil.
I usually add 1 tsp of olive oil, kosher salt, granulated garlic and cayenne. Lately, I just add the EVOO, hot sauce and a little bit of salt. I also do cinnamon, stevia and a little salt.
I will try the nutritional yeast also. Thanks for the ideas0 -

Nutritional Yeast (very cheesy tasting & healthy)0 -
Either with pepper and light salt OR I eat a piece of cheese or a piece of dark chocolate with it. (I recommend the second idea!)0

Urban Accents does a series of fun popcorn seasonings. My favorite is dill pickle. Yum! Strangely, I found these at the Hallmark store, go figure. I also have white cheddar and...I don't remember the other one. But YUM dill pickle.0

Fresh parm cheese and freeze dried italian seasoning. Lite house brand is what I use no salt and I think it's zero or no calories0

Microwave or I'll break a tooth0

I like cinnamon and a little brown sugar sometimes... But my FAVORITE topping is Parmesan cheese and some Italian herbs.0

I put butter and salt on it- been eating it that way for years- no jazzing necessary for me.0

I am a popcorn addict! I have a few favorites: Olive Oil Mister is a MUST with cracked black pepper and sea salt. Olive Oil, sprinkle parm cheese and if you are really in for a treat.. SMOKED PAPRIKA.. sooo good. My stand by has always been BUTTER melted with SPIKE seasoning... Sold in Health food stores.. the BEST.. I have also done melted peanut butter with lime and garlic... messy but good. I'd rather eat a bowl of popcorn than dinner any day!0

No one has said they listen to John Coltrane while their popcorn is microwaving?0

Another vote for nutritional yeast, good on any kind of corn. Salt, always. Ethiopian spice mix or chili powder on top of that are great too.
I went back to oil-popping though, it's better enough to be worth the tablespoon of oil.0 -
I pop my popcorn in coconut oil. I don't feel that it needs butter, as the coconut oil gives it a mild buttery flavor. I'd also second adding parmesan cheese. It has a strong enough flavor that a little goes a long way.0
