So I have seen a lot that after your workout you should have protein and carbs.

Is this a must?

What about the people who are on a no carb diet? (I am not... but was just curious)

What are some good post workout foods that would satisfy these requirements?

I don't think it makes or breaks you, however I usually eat my oatmeal and wait about 30mins to workout. Then afterwards I have a snack if I'm still hungry. Thats just me...everyone is different

Protein after your workout helps your muscles rebuild. I have chocolate Whey Protein powder i make chocolate milk with or banana and chocolate smoothie with milk and ice, or even strawberries, oj, and the protein, i look forward to my post workout smoothie lol

I tend to eat after a workout either if I am hungry, or if I still need to eat some calories for the day (I usually work out at night, after I've eaten my main meals for the day). I usually eat some greek yogurt mixed with cereal and some protein powder. It's usually really satisfying and gives a good protein boost!

I personally have a protein shake no later than 30 mins after my workout. I also save dinner (which includes some protein as well) for after my workout as well. Otherwise I would go to be starving and that wouldnt be good for my metabolism.
