When you eat your food out of a mason jar? Do you eat it layer by layer or dump it in a bowl and eat it that way?
Also, leave your favorite mason jar recipes.

Oh, mason jars. I resisted getting them for so long because they seem like such pinterest hipster dufus vessels but I had to break down and get a few because they were the only lidded glass containers I could find.
Anyway, the only thing I'm currently making in mason jars is overnight oats. In the morning I tend to stir it around so the layers are mixed together. Super easy overnight oats:
40 g oats
140 g berries
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
6 oz. milk
Sometimes I add flax seed.0 -

I made overnight oats last night but not in a mason jar. This oatmeal was so chocolatey and rich, it tasted like you were eating chocolate frosting.
40 g steel cut oats
1 container Dannon Vanilla Greek Zero
1.5-2 ounces flax milk
3 tbsp chocolate PB2
20 g Pure Protein chocolate protein powder.
Came to nearly 40 grams of protein and 13 grams of fiber! I was so full still at lunch time I didn't want to eat my lunch.0 -
I will never do mason jars.0

I keep several things in Mason jars. Mostly homemade brandy or moonshine ;-)0

on the overnight oats; regular, quick oats, or steel cut?
for the fruit, fresh? frozen? does it matter?0 -
Sound like more work then just making oatmeal in the morning and adding fruit.
Don't have go goofy just enjoy0 -
I love overnight oats. I just use tupperware though. Tons of variations depending on your preference and calorie allowance. I like hot oatmeal too but really prefer the cold chewiness over ONOs.
I prefer fresh berries in mine or sliced banana, PB2, protein powder, vanilla greek yogurt, almond milk, flax.
I use old fashioned oats.0 -

I use old fashioned (regular) like @MommyMeggo. I have read that quick oats get mushy but haven't tried them. I think that steel cut would work but might possibly take a bit longer to get soft (again, though, haven't tried them to be sure.)
Fruit--You could use either. I'm using frozen berries because that costs less right now in the winter.maranda1211 wrote: »Sound like more work then just making oatmeal in the morning and adding fruit.

Takes about 60 seconds to measure out, sits in the fridge overnight, able to be eaten as soon as I take it out of the fridge in the morning. I also prefer the texture of uncooked oats over cooked oats.0
