Does anyone else find it super annoying when a member just disappears? Does that even happen to anyone else? Well, it happened to me. We messaged and were motivating, and then POOF! Gone! No more profile, no goodbye, nothing. I thought this was a place to make friends that also wanted to better themselves?! Thanks for "motivating" and then vanishing, EnduringEducator....

Yea, people come and go, but most pf the good ones stay0

They were probably married and cheating on their spouse with somebody else on here. Happens all the time.0

This was the 1st time this has happened to me. Odd... I guess I just assume if they can't chat anymore (wife, life, whatever) then all they'd need to do is say something.
Sad day....*kicks rocks0 -

Good luck with that. I'll send them the login to payoff my student loans, all they had to do was ask.0

I think that is why we all need a few friends and still have to be doing this for ourselves ultimately. Friends help, but we have to do it for ourselves.

I love that! I totally am doing this for me. But, it just sucks when you think you connect with someone trying to attain a goal and then you're wondering if they've been abducted by aliens.0

Thank you for this. Somebody bring back the crooners of the 70s with their chunky sterling silver jewelry, all natural hairdos, snug polyester outfits, Malibu suntans, cowboy boots, acoustic guitars and surgically uncorrected noses. Deep nostalgic sigh.

I thought this thread was going to be about something else...

I should hope that member doesn't disappear!0 -
It generally doesn't bother me too much. People make accounts here because they think that it will help them. But if that need changes, and they decide they need something else, that's fine too. Whatever works.0

Yep. I keep losing people, too. One hopes they lost the weight and kept it off.... and that's why they haven't been back?0

Sounds positive. I like it. Here's hoping they achieved their goal0

It's the hotel California. They leave but always come back.0

Actually if it was the Hotel California, they could check out anytime they like but they could never leave.0

Lmao 100%0 -
I had super friends with my old mfp account; but for almost a year I was dealing with two family members who were near death at times and another family member who was ill, so I closed my account, as I didn't want to pull others down. When I opened this account, family still had a few near death crisis' (in December and January); but thankfully things are looking a bit hopeful now, so I'm back on track with my goals. I haven't seen my old friends in the forums and I can't remember their specific names. Perhaps your disappearing friends may have been dealing with other things, so I wouldn't take it personal. Best wishes on your journey0

Isn't it fun to reinvent yourself once in awhile0

There are a few friends I've made here that I would be totally bummed if they just disappeared without any notice. Mostly I'd be worried that something happened to them.0

what's weird is when non concurrent members join the "Chit Chat" thread like its not some sort of club already really
like I think the Chit Chat club attracts different kinds of people than people are serious about weight loss and personal fitness.. like0 -

People come and go all the time. That's why it's you that should motivate you. You can't rely on others because stuff like this will happen.
