binging gained 7lbs

Help, I binged this weekend after 2 months of solid clean eating and gained 7lbs. What can I do to flush me out so I can get back on track asap?

    Start new tomorrow. Eat how you were. Drink lots of water. It will come off again.

    Most of the weight will be "flushed" out with time - literally. Most weight after a binge is either water retention or poop. I had a 2 week "binge" aka, I went on holidays. It was gone in a couple of days...

    To gain 7lbs of actual fat in 2 days is pretty much impossible, that's equivalent to 22,000 calories over your BMR. The majority of that gain is water weight.

    I'm new to this whole clean lifestyle thing and this was my biggest slip up yet. Can't seem to figure out what causes it either. Glad to know it might be easier to lose than I thought

    Honestly it's fine, you're doing great by the sounds of it. The scales can be very deceitful at times. Excess carbs create water retention

    The "slip up" is probably from being over-restrictive. Cut out too many "nice" things and eventually your body/brain will throw a tantrum and you'll end up having all the "nice" things in one go. You need to pick a eating style that you can do forever.

    You can definitely lose weight without perfect "clean eating", most people actually find by using a 80/20 ratio (80% energy from nutritious sources aka "clean eating" & 20% energy from "junk) that it's much easier to stick to it. I definitely eat junk foods - I just can't handle 100% clean eating.

    Maybe the fact that you're eating 'clean' instead of allowing yourself treats that fit in your calorie/macro goal?

    How "clean" are you eating? Are you depriving yourself of food you love? If so, you're setting up yourself for a binge.

    In the end, only the amount of calories count towards weight loss. If you're committed to eating healthier, a 80% healthy/unprocessed/clean and 20% treats/processed gives a good balance....

    If I didn't give myself the sweets that I love while dieting, there is NO WAY I could stay with it. This is what I LOVE about MFP. No food is banned.

    High protein, leafy greens, fruits and vegetables has been my eating changes over the past two months. I'm preparing myself for gastric sleeve surgery.

    Work treats and sugary greasy things into your everyday diet. That way you won't be so prone to binge. Also make sure you eat enough.

    Then tell your doctor about it at your next appointment.

    And give yourself a treat daily that's within your calorie limit.

    Or do you want to gain all the weight back after you reach your goal?

    Deprivation leads to bingeing and yo-yoing.

    I think there are few and far between that do 100% "clean" eating 100% of the time. I do have those "naughty" foods / treats on a fairly regular basis but I keep it within certain restrictions. I tend to do what another poster said - the 80% / 20% ratio and that works for me. Btw I've seen me "gain" about 4lb over a weekend, only to see my weight back to normal 3 or 4 days later - basically its water retention, and as long as you're going back to healthy eating and lifestyle it shouldn't be a big problem.
