I'm new to this and i keep going over on my protein but under on calories, is that something I should be concerned about?

    No and it's probably a good thing.

    MFP protein recommendations are typically very low.
    If you're active and especially if your lifting, getting .8-1.2 grams per pound of lean body weight is what you want to shoot for in order to preserve muscle mass while losing weight.

    Yes, I agree, it is a good thing! I always have a tough time meeting my protein goal and would love to go over!

    Yes. Excess protein converts to glycogen, and from there, to fat.
