I've been on my journey now for about 5 months. I didn't take pictures when I first started but I did when I was about 60 days in. I never thought I would post pics but I figured its time to start showing off the progress. I have to say that when you put the pics side by side you really do see the difference. Helps keep me motivated!

    Nice job!

And to get it to show you have to use the [ IMG ] tags and then make them lowercase here.

Honestly I'm just eating right by making better choices, watching my calorie intake to stay close to my 1400 calories, eating back my exercise calories ( I use an HRM which I love), and eating 5 - 6 meals a day. With the food part it kind of helps that I've been a diabetic for a while because I didn't have to remove things like pop, candy bars, etc from my diet they were already gone but decreasing things like pizza and fast food can be a little trying at time but if I really want it I have it just smaller portion and I look up calorie counts on fast food menus so I know what I want and how many calories before I even get there.

As for exercise I have some health issues that have made my progress slower and also this is my weakness when it comes to motivation. If I could get more motivated with the exercise it would definitely give me results faster. I do go the the gym about 2 - 3 mornings a week and do about 45 minutes of cardio and strength training. I also do water aerobics 1 - 2 days a week. As for other exercise I just try to keep moving I told my daughter this summer I just want to MOVE... go to the park, ride my bike, swim, whatever I just want to be motivated to keep moving.

And lastly but certainly not least I have a fantastic support system. This site and my family have really helped me on my journey. My family and I all did this together. With us all living together it made it easier and we were all able to lean on each other. My daughter and I are still on our journey to lose. My husband (40 lbs) and son-in-law (24 years old has lost 79 lbs) have pretty much achieved their goals and are in more of a maintenance mode (MEN).. LOL

I hope this helps a little. Free free to ADD me as a friend.
  • Wow!! You even look "younger"!!!! You are doing awesome!!! :flowerforyou:

You are doing so good. Keep up the good work. Now can you see a difference in youself? I asked that because most people tell me, wow you're losing weight! And I can not see it yet and its been 24 pounds!

Wow ... Taking the pictures is that great NSV that shows you what progress you've made. Great work!!

Before I even started to SEE the weight loss I felt more energetic. The next thing I noticed was that my clothes started to get baggy. One of the best NSV moments so far is when I cleaned out my walk in closet about a month ago and had to donate about 4 bags of clothes because they were too big. I still have a ways to go but these types of things keep you motivated.
