power/speed walking stride issues with fitbit flex

I use MapMyRun for my runs and walks (mostly walks). I am averaging 4.5-5 mph on my walks lately, and they tend to be 4-5 miles long. Yesterday when I started my walk fitbit showed that I had already logged almost 2 miles. I walked for 6.17 miles. At the end of my walk fitbit showed I had walked a TOTAL of 6.63 miles for the day. What's more MMR showed a step count of 15k, but fitbit was at 13k for the day.
I want to make sure that I have my stride entered correctly. Should I use my normal, every day walking stride, or should I use my stride for when I am speed/power walking? There is a significant difference in the two.
I also think that when I am on my walks that some of the steps are skipped. It seems like every 10th one or so (when I am watching to see what fitbit is doing) skips. The app will hesitate for a sec and then keep going. Is that normal? I've only had this for three weeks.
I know that it isn't a huge deal, but there is satisfaction in knowing that it is accurately reflecting the work I have done. If nothing else, my actual mileage/steps/calories burned is higher than what shown, which means I am probably in more of a deficit than I think...right?

I entered my everyday walking stride, because I wear mine all day it still accurately picks up my normal day to day steps.
I have a question for you Does MMR tell you your miles per hour?0 -

Thanks @Christine_72! That helps.
MMR gives the mileage and pace per mile. Yesterday I walked 6.18 miles at a 12.19 average time per mile, which works out close to 5 miles per hour. When MMR syncs with MFP it usually logs it as 4.5 or 5 miles per hour. Does that make sense?0 -
