Loosing weight after thyroid removal

I wanted to know if anyone else is having as much trouble loosing weight after thyroid removal as I am. The doctor says my thyroid medicine dosage level is right but I've cut calories and work out and it doesn't seem to matter. I just slowly keep gaining. If anyone has any suggestions, tips, success stories, etc to share that would be great.

Get your numbers (all of them--the full panel), do some research and make sure you agree with your doc that they're in a good range.
Are you carefully weighing and logging everything you eat?0 -
Without a thyroid, or with one that doesn't work, like mine, you want your TSH, which is the hormone they generally gauge levels from, to be well in the low end of the acceptable range. Mid or high end of the range will often leave you feeling like crap and gaining weight. I pushed my doctor to keep edging my synthroid up until I was at nearly the bottom of the range before I started feeling better.0
