I am a nurse and just started the overnight shift. I've consistently gone over calories and have zero energy to work out. Before this I was working second shift and lost 15 pounds eating clean and working out 4 days a week. Anyone else on the graveyard shift that can offer advice??

I'm not currently on it, but I have been on it before (ohhh sunrise's when coming off shift, how lovely.). Are you seeing any other physical issue with the shift change? Take a look into Shift Work Disorder, as it may be playing into what you're experiencing with those issues.
As for the food, there are several threads floating around areas of MFP of nurses needing advise on what to take to eat there (if simply to avoid the cafeteria). As your diary isn't open to all I can't see how things have gone off kilter for you so my advice off hand would be take a look at what you were eating before vs what you're eating now and see how to get yourself back on track.

I always have fruits and vegetables which I normally love, or almonds but all I am craving lately is junk food. I worked a 12 hour shift today and I got out, Ate McDonalds breakfast then went and bought ice cream. I know a lot of this is stress induced but my self control has gone out the window.

I don't really have any advice, but good luck! I worked third shift for 6 years at a group home and gained a lot of my weight during that time period

    Good afternoon!

I also work the night shift. Although it may be hard just try to stay focused. Do exactly what you were doing before to lose the weight just flip the times. So when you wake up in the afternoon eat breakfast just like you would waking up at 6am. Don't let the times fool you. If it's easier meal prep so you can have everything prepared when you do go to work. You can do this!!

My husband works 6p-6a. We barb q a bunch of meats on Sunday and I make healthy side so he still feels like he has food to choose from. He brings it to work with him and that most certainly helps...Small snacks too so he doesn't get hungry and mindlessly eats
