My calves are a shade under 16" for the first time in years. Also, I just found a 70% discount plus free shipping sale on wide calf boots that ends this weekend, at a shop I love but can't usually justify the prices of. Serendipity!

Where? I can never find affordable boots to fit over my calves! :'(

http://www.tedandmuffy.com/sale/womens-boots/ - the sale is on until Feb 25th :)

My wife bought me a new bike the other day. I rode for 6 miles yesterday. I'm happy to say I didn't have to get off and push. Two things I learned real quick. Head-winds suck and I need some butt padding. My butt still hurts. Of course it's been 25 years since I've rode a bicycle.

My Dad is a serious biker and he buys and uses the underwear with padding in the butt.

Last night I tried a pair of shorts I couldn't wear at all last summer. I got them on and didn't have to hop up and down, or twist, or anything. I wasn't even winded when I got them on! It's been a long time since really cute clothes just buttoned and zipped without sweat and tears.

YES! Definitely buy padded shorts and not a padded seat. They're ... weird, I can't explain it, but the gel ones in particular fell much more comfortable to the hand (while you're squishing them in the store) than they do to the butt during an actual ride.

Thanks for the info y'all. That's what I was going to do. I will buy the padded shorts instead.

I've had several NSVs building up in the past several weeks but here are my favourites! :)
-My coworkers tell me I'm "disappearing" and I get smaller every time they see me. Lots of comments at work, actually. One told me to get a new work uniform because I could "fit an extra person in there"! (I did and these fit better, haha). Those comments are the most gratifying because I never told them I was trying to lose this weight.
-I am getting acquainted with my hips and RIBS (I've never felt them before)
-My 8 yr old brother said that my working out is working and I'm getting "skinnier". He helps me work out and is the best cheerleader I have!
-This morning I wanted to read my novel but I wanted to do it while working out because I couldn't sit still! Can't do that I'm afraid... but I have all this extra energy, lazing around doesn't have the same appeal that it used to.

    And I'm only halfway!

Walking is so much more fun with a dog. Watch out, though, he'll start expecting those walks. Every time my dog sees me putting my coat on, she gets excited and runs to the door, hoping for a walk.

Purged my 'summer' shirts that are too big now for donation and bought three (smaller!) wicking fabric T-shirts to wear hiking when the sun finally starts to shine.
My daughter and I also had some fun trying on dresses and I realized I might fit into some of hers this summer - WOAH!

Completed my first 15km run race today. Slow time of 1:37:30 but glad I did it.
Also have a 10km run next week, my third.
And my weekly parkrun (5km) which I love!

I would suggest that is a personal preference. I ripped the padding out of my bike shorts once I got the padded seat. The padding in the shorts always left marks and irritation for me. So I prefer the latter, but then again some people think I am a little weird so it would fit :-)

Some months ago I added three new holes to my belt because it was to big.
Today I am on the last of those new holes and will have to add more before long.
  • I can finally do proper push ups! I couldn't do even ONE before Christmas!

I visited with on old, childhood friend last week. For reference, we are 51 yrs old. She said that I am slimmer and more fit that I was in high school!

2 NSV's today. I had to tighten the chest strap on my Polar HRM, as it was getting baggy and I bought a full length mirror. I don't think I've had a full length mirror for a decade. Big step on acceptance!

Pics taken on the weekend with my tiny niece didn't make me want to hide in a dark room forever. I actually look ok! I also bought a bathroom scale because the one at the gym is rubbish - weigh less than I thought! Huzzah!

I've played competitive soccer since I was young, and I've always been pretty good (I like to think  ) but I took a year off last year because I was just too busy between work and school I didn't think I could handle it. After realizing how much I missed it (and how terribly out of shape I'd gotten) I decided to join back in this winter. At the beginning of the season I was barely making it through our 6 minute shifts without needing a break. Well today during the second half of our game, one of my teammates had to leave early, while we were already down a player, and since I started the half it meant I had to play the whole half (25 minutes), and I did it and still managed to play well! It felt nice since I used to be able to play whole games without a sub and it had gotten disheartening how much my being out of shape was affecting my game.

It was a nice little NSV since the scale hasn't been moving at all
  • Reached a personal goal of mine and rewarded myself by going through my wardrobe. I will now have clothes in storage that are too big for me not just totes full of too small clothes. Some of the shirts I took out of storage are in that sweet spot where they fit just right. They show off how much weight I have already lost but don't accentuate how much I have left to lose.

Coworkers and family saying that I've finished the weight loss aspect of my journey - I haven't. Lol
I Am focusing more on weights however and not So much cardio.

Even when I'm ahead of the game calorie wise, it's hard for me to Really go in and pig out the way that I use to do...

I start in March as a part time fitness instructor. (Two classes)

I looked absolutely phenomenal in a dress that I wore tonight... Per different women commenting on the fit and inquiring where I purchased it. I do realize that the dress Was Making me to a certain degree. Lol

I have a few to add.
My hair has always been on the thinner finer side to where you could easily see my scalp at times. Lately with the weight loss though it has been appearing to be a bit fuller and I'm getting better coverage. I guess our heads lose weight too.

This next isn't so much a victory but I'm putting it here anyway. I love to bake and I am the messiest cook you can imagine. Some years ago I had a retro style apron custom made for me because I was too fat to tie the standard size aprons around my waist. And I really loved it. However, it is comically huge on me now. I've passed it on to my cousin who is thrilled to have something so cute and practical. And I can pick one up at any store now.
