Measuring Water Consumption

When the meter at the bottom of MFP tells you to track your water consumption for the day (my recommended amonut is 8 cups, which I assume is pretty typical), are we measuring in cups as in a glass that you drink out of (because obviously the ounces per cup can be very different depending on how large or small of a cup you have) or are we measuring by cups as in a baking measurement. Let me know how you all are calculating this, I'm curious to know. Thanks!:smile:

The generally accepted measurement is that a cup is 8 oz.

I drink bottled water--well water where we live is YUCKY--so I go by ounces and go with 8 equals one "serving".

It would be 8 ounces but you can measure it however you want.

8 ounces in a cup. If I drink a 16 ounce water bottle I count it as 2 cups.

I drink out of litre bottles and I just assume one litre is 4 cups. So everytime I finish off a bottle, I add 4 cups.

I measure in Litres also! 8oz x 8 cups is just under 2 litres... Generally I drink about 3-4 litres a day!!
