I'm a busy student and I try to fit in exercise when I can but it's not enough. What do I do to be more active?

take the long way between classes, take the stairs, park further away, walk and read when you're studying...

What are your current exercises? I'm also a student and the key is to get the most possible out of your workouts. I recommend HIIT. High intensity workouts for a short period of time. This would give you an effective and quick 30 minute workout.

You have to make it a priority, or you have to make other lifestyle changes. Like someone else said, park farther away, take the stairs instead of the elevator, etc. These won't make you fit but it does increase your daily activity. You could also try home workouts instead of gym workouts if going to the gym itself is too time consuming. There are lots of free 15-30 minute workouts online - YouTube, Fitness Blender, and many more. I'm sure you can find some time at least 3-5 days per week to fit in 30 minute workouts.

Ride your bike around campus. Take the stairs. Visit the gym. Sign up for a fitness class.

When I was in undergrad I used to take my textbooks to the gym and read while doing cardio. Yes, I was going slower than if I hadn't been reading, and probably not getting quite as much out of the workout, but I otherwise probably would not have gone to gym at all which would have meant no cardio or weights. I did put the books down for weight lifting ;)

I've known full-time working parents find 15 hours a week to train for Ironman triathlons.
If you want to find the time you'll find it.
If you you want to find excuses not to find the time, you'll find them too.

    ^^ winner

P.S. It doesn't get any easier - I'd love the free time I had when I was a "busy student" - try it with a 2 hour per day commute and a couple of kids to look after.

I was thinking the same thing. Being "busy" in college was way different than being a busy adult. Whenever I felt busy in college it was because of my social schedule. Basically, we're saying it doesn't get any easier. After college you might be working 2, 3, 4 jobs. You may have long commutes and long work days. You have to find time to exercise. Go early in the morning before you start your classes. Go in the afternoon when you have a break. Find friends who work out regularly and tag along. Play flag football or volleyball with friends. Just try to keep moving.

How much time do you spend watching TV, playing video games, on social media, etc? I would say in 90%+ of the cases cutting the time spent on those activities in half will give you plenty of time for exercise.
