Hello

Just wanted to introduce myself my names Katie. I thought i would give this a go as nothing is working at the moment. Over the last 4 weeks i have been exercising and dieting and i am finding that i am putting on weight which is getting me down. Can anyone let me know how they are getting on with this and how much they have lost? I am going on holiday in 12 weeks and really need to start losing now before its too late!

Thanks

Katie xx

    Hi Katie,

the tools on here are really good, most foods are in the DB or have something that is close. This is my second week and it really helps me to focus on what I`m eating (Except yesterday, Fathers day with 3 young kids is a diet nightmare, their imagination stops at socks and chocolate..).
I lost 5lbs last week (First week so i know its not gonna be like that this week).
What are you aiming for? If you are putting it on you need to look at what you`re eating and what type of exercise you`re doing.

The forums/friends are great for ideas and support. feel free to add me as a friend.

    Best of luck!

Hi Katie , i can't see your diary Are you eating to enough?

This is just a part of it! please read the link above

Generally someone with a BMI over 32 can do a 1000 calorie a day (2 lbs a week) deficit
With a BMI of 30 to 32 a deficit of 750 calories is generally correct (about 1.5 lbs a week)
With a BMI of 28 to 30 a deficit of 500 calories is about right (about 1 lb a week)
With a BMI of 26 to 28 a deficit of about 300 calories is perfect (about 1/2 lb a week)
and below 26... well this is where we get fuzzy. See now you're no longer talking about being overweight, so while it's still ok to have a small deficit, you really should shift your focus more towards muscle tone, and reducing fat. This means is EXTRA important to eat your exercise calories as your body needs to KNOW it's ok to burn fat stores, and the only way it will know is if you keep giving it the calories it needs to not enter the famine response (starvation mode)

    Hi Katie,
my names Maria, and i've been using this site for 2 weeks today. I find it fantastic! I've never really dieted before, but after having a baby 5 months ago my body is suddenly behaving very differently, and I really want to get back to my pre pregnancy weight.

I've lost about 5lbs so I'm happy enough with that so far. I love this site because no food is banned, and I can earn that bar of chocolate or pizza by going for a walk first or doing a zumba class. It makes me feel like I'm controlling my food rather then it controling me. I LOVE food, and i'm learning about making better choices, so this works for me!

How much weight are you hoping to loose? I've a friends wedding in 11 weeks so that's my target, but I've got my birthday at the end of July as my "mini-target" ;-)

Feel free to add me if you're looking for a bit of support! x
