I tend to go over my recommended protein amount almost every day. Does anyone know how much of a difference this will make with weight loss? I average about 60-80grams of protein a day - MFP sets my goals at 46g per day.

It depends on the rest of your health areas. If you're going over in Protein but staying under in Fat and Carbs, you should be able to still lose weight and maybe build a bit of muscle. I tend to go over in protein and stay even or under in Fat and Carbs and wind up either losing weight or staying the same.0

Here are a couple of articles I had found when I was researching the same thing. Honestly, I think MFP way underestimates the amount of protein we should have, especially since the vast majority of us are here to lose weight.
Hope they help!!
1. MSNBC article. Pretty informative about how much protein is good on a daily basis.

2. This article has a protein calculator that will adjust your protein goal by what your overall goal is (weight loss, muscle building, etc)
