Hello. My name is Elise and I have been fighting the weight loss battle my whole life.
I'm looking for some encouragement and support from my fellow warriors since I am getting none from my fiancee.
I love him but he is a Fat Admirer and wants to keep me big. I want to lose weight for my health and work as an entertainer.
Any words of widom and/or support would be appreciated.
Love.

Hello Elise! I admire that you are reaching out to others for encouragement! It is unfortunate that your fiancée does not support your decisions in getting healthier. I feel that as a fiancée he should support in the fact that your doing it for the betterment of yourself because it's not just for a stupid reason it's actually for a life sustaining reason you are wanting to be healthier. It's not about how much weight you lose or gain but it's about the fact of living a longer, more positive life style. I'm not getting healthier for weight loss but for the reason of feeding my body the nutrients it deserves. God made food for a source of life not a pleasure, which is what society has changed it into being with the unnecessary sugars, sodium and fructose syrup. If you have a Netflix account I suggest watching the documentary " fed up". It opened my eyes to a lot of interesting facts about our food today. I hope I helped a little and I pray that your fiancée can come around and support you and your life goals! I give you my best wishes in life!

Not new to MFP, but I've been gone for almost two years.
The last time I was on, I was so motivated and the support I gained here was priceless. I lost 45 pounds and felt so healthy and strong.
Unfortunately, life got in the way and it all fell apart. But, I'm angry and on a mission. Time to take back control of my life. My main goals are to lose 80 pounds total and to complete a RUN DISNEY in 2017.
I will be on daily and am looking for buddies to help keep me motivated. I promise to do the same for you!
Send me a friend request if you are interested.0 -
Elise, I am saddened to hear that you are getting no support from your fiance'. Your happiness and your attempt to be healthy is most important. Him wanting to keep you big is scary to hear and sounds as though he is controlling by thinking that if you were more fit that you would leave him which sounds overprotective and overbearing. My husband loved me fat, but was there to support me through a healthy new lifestyle. I don't want to come across strong but you may want to think hard about spending the rest of your life with this person if they are not willing lift you up and support you in your life decisions especially involving your health. My words of wisdom would be to start with using this site to the fullest. Begin by making small changes and fitting in walking or exercise daily. If you are committed to this, it will work! I too was overweight most of my entire life. Lost over 80 pounds and have kept it off for over 3 years now and couldn't be happier. Would be here to motivate and support you.0
