Hi everyone,
My name's Karen and I'm currently a stay at home mum of a 2 year old girl. I'm unsure whether I should have my level set at lightly active or sedentary. I've swapped it from one to the other from time to time and it doesn't change my total calories in anyway, so I've never been overly concerned about it. I'm due to go back to work in the next week or so and am going back to do nightfill in a supermarket. It is very physical work and I always push myself to go flat out for my whole shift and generally work up a decent sweat. The shifts are only 3.5 hours so I'm not sure what I should set it too.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated :-D

I'd set it at lightly active or active after going back to work.

^I agree. I'd say lightly active or active. Breaking a sweat makes me think more on the active spectrum, but it's only 3.5 hours?!? Hmmm... somewhere in that range though.

Also, if it doesn't change your total calories, have you set your loss to 2lbs/week? Is it staying right at 1200? If so, that might be why it isn't adjusting. If that is the case, you should consider setting your goal to 1lb or 0.5lbs loss/week. It's healthier. It'll give you more energy to be with your LO, and it's safer. If you are already set to that type of goal, then ignore this paragraph

    Good luck.

I'm currently 55 kg and have a goal of 48kg so not looking to lose a lot. It's set at 0.5kg a week which is 1.1lb (I think). It puts me at 1200 on sedentary and 1200 on lightly active and goes up to 1320 when I change to active. I agree it's the short shift that makes me think I should maybe stay on lightly active but I know I wouldn't be able to hold the pace I work at for longer then those short shifts so that makes me think maybe leaning towards active.
    Thanks @samanthachen

I guess at the end of the day either setting will still have me losing so as long as I try and stay under about 1400 that's all that matters.
