I would only track the cream and sugar to be honest.0

Track ingredients separately.0

I don't know what brands you're using, so I went with what I would drink.
Black tea = 0 calories
Whole milk = 313 calories for 500 mL
Sugar = 90 calories for 12 grams
About 413 calories for the milk with tea and sugar.
As others said, log the milk and sugar separately or create a recipe if you always use the same brands and amounts.0 -
agreed; log each separately0
-
You really put two whole cups of milk in your tea?0
-
I don't have anything to add other than that is a whole lot of milk. How big is your cup of tea?0

500ml of milk in a cup of tea!? Wow.
Personally my milk is about quarter of a cup in tea and coffee and I make it pretty milky (milk isn't the main liquid). And 1 teaspoon of sugar.
OP, you need to measure your milk and weigh your sugar to know, everyone takes their tea differently which is why there is no definitive answer.0 -

Agreed. I thought two of those little half and half single cups (the single serving guys) was pretty rich/milky.0 -

As others mentioned, track is separately. If you are doing 10% milk/90% tea, that would be 50ml of whole milk, that would be 31 calories from milk.
Add in the 90 cals from sugar, and you are at 121 cals.0 -
Ah, so the entire portion is 500 ml?
Measure how much milk you're adding the 500 ml mug, then measure how much tea you add. Track the milk you measured as a single entry, and track the rest as black tea (most brands are like 0-4 calories for plain black tea). And track the sugar too, of course.
If it's the same every time you make it, you can create your own recipe where it pulls these individual ingredients together.0 -

But you don't fill the whole cup with milk, at least some of it will be tea. You have to log the amount of milk you are using, not the volume of the container you put it into.0 -

You made me want tea with milk. I'm making it now0
-
I have 500ml of milk in my tea too, but I average around 8 cups of tea and that milk is spread throughout those cups.
I log the actual tea as 0 calories, and separately log the milk. I don't add sugar, if i did that would be logged separately too.0 -
That actually sounds really good and I never add anything to mine. I don't have the calories to try even half a cup today though after a luscious breakfast so I'll drink my plain mango black tea while I envy yours.0
-
Is there a reason why you can't just look up the calorie count of the components of your tea in the MFP database? It even adds them for you!!!0

Those cups of tea are my breakfast. I don't eat anything til lunch time.0 -
As a Brit who was born drinking tea, making it with just milk boggles my mind. Unless it's chai. And aside from the sacrilegious nature of tea made with only milk, that's an awful lot of liquid calories.0
-
I fill a measuring cup with 250ml of almond milk and 250ml light milk every morning, comes to 174 calories, and lasts me all morning.0
-
I was thinking chai too. Boiling the tea in the sugared milk, and the amount of milk larger than the vessel, some of the milk gets thrown out with the tea leaves, makes this a complicated calculation. Lol, I give up. Just log some random number0
-
I just like my tea black and milk is so heavy on calories and stuff I stay right away from it all together!!!0
-
Yeah, I'm thinking this must be a version of chai tea as well. I would say measure the milk & sugar before you heat it and log the milk and sugar separately. There might be some small change as the milk boils down, and you probably lose some milk/sugar in the tea leaves that are discarded, but I have no idea how to account for that.0
-
As a Brit I find this thread offensive to the concept of tea
The word you are looking for in relation to the appropriate proportion of milk in tea is "splash"

OMG I feel like i'm being milk shamed0

I think you should switch to coffee LOL0

My ex-best friend had half a cup of sugar with black coffee. I worked with an old lady who used mayonnaise to cream her coffee. Seeing someone drink 2 cups of milk with black tea doesn't surprise me.0 -
