Wondering if taking vitamin and supplements would keep a person from going into a stall with taking in less than 1000 calories a day

No!! Your body needs nutrients (macronutrients can't be obtained in a multivitamin).
Don't starve yourself. It is not healthy or safe.0 -
Thank you Carlos, however in cases of those who are imoble I know that doctors will order a strict 800 calorie diet for short periods of time. Does anyone know if vitamins are used during this process.0

If you have genuine concerns I would suggest discussing with you doctor or health professional to be safe.0

Are you in fact immobile and being ordered onto a strict 800 cal diet by a doctor?0

Any diet of this type must be doctor supervised--otherwise you risk big-time. Don't self-medicate, call your doctor and make an appointment. If you don't want to, just use MFP as it's set up. Plug in your stats, take the calories it gives you, weigh and measure everything you eat, buy a digital food scale, and try to stay within your calories everyday. See how it goes for a couple of weeks. What have you got to lose?--except weight, of course.0

Right, immobile people who weigh 600 lbs or more and need to prepare for bariatric surgery before their extreme weight causes them to die. In that case, a last-ditch intervention is justified, and is supervised in-hospital by competent medical professionals.
I assume you don't weigh close to 600 lbs and aren't immobile. Stop looking for the quick fix and do something sustainable, otherwise you're just going to pack on the weight again when you start eating more than 800 calories a day - which you eventually will.0 -

Actually it is done with other patients at much less weight than 600 LBS. But thank you for your advice.
