I can't eat anything high in fiber or eat raw veggies, do to my Crohn's Disease. As you can imagine this makes losing weight difficult. On top of that I'm on prednisone which makes me fat. Any tips on low fiber foods that aren't high in carbs!? I try not to eat anything higher than 2 g of dietary fiber. Cooked broccoli, corn, brussels sprouts, asparagus, and carrots are out too.

The best advice I can give you is: consult a dietitian. Your MD can refer you one (and in my State it would be covered by insurance). Crohn's interferes with the absorption of several important nutrients. And corticosteroids interfere with the absorption of others.
Use a juicer to your advantage. Most centrifugal juicers will separate the pulp (=fiber) from the juice. You can consume the juice or use it to cook instead of water (for example, white rice cooked in broccoli juice).
Plan, plan, plan. Good luck0 -
You should discuss with the doctor who diagnosed you. They should be able to refer you to someone who specializes in Chron's diets. They will help you get on a good food plan.0

If you have a diagnosed condition that requires a special diet, you should probably speak to your doctor or a dietician with experience with your condition. I'm not trained in giving advice for medical conditions and your average member here is not either.0

I am not asking for medical advice about my Crohn's disease. I have had it for many years, so I'm pretty familiar with the ins and outs of it. I've schooled the dietitians around my area on the matter, because none of them have ever had a clients with my condition. The dietitians have actually Google it when I'm in their office lol. I can do that myself. I was just kind of bored with my meal choices. Most in which consist of carbs and meat. I was just looking for low fiber meal ideas (you know food) nothing medical. The medical advice I was given was low residue, low fiber diet. Just seeing if anybody was in the same boat as me that might have some meal ideas. My Gastroenterologist is who I will seek actual medical advice from.0 -

I juiced for a while but never used the juice to cook with. I will try that sometime. I normally try to cook my rice with some type of broth.0 -

i have crohns disease as well although i am far more prone to intense constipation (like 2 weeks without a bm) i havent been on prednison for 6 years.. it didnt do ANYTHING for me and 16 pills a day was worthless to me. I would hire/or get advice from a dietitian. All my drs never ruled ot fiber for me.. but everyone is different. I would def talk to a professional.0 -
When Crohn's disease is active fibrous foods passing through the stomach it can cause damage to the inflamed areas. This is true for me. It causes bleeding and discomfort. So I try to stay low fiber.0

I do remember looking into this a while ago. From what I remember I'm pretty close the following this anyways, but it's worth revisiting. Like I know nightshade vegetables are to be avoided in low fodmap...but I'm a sucker for a good tomato sauce lol. I just fall into a rut sometimes of always going to my go to meals of rice and chicken. Or I find myself eating too many carbs like bread and wraps. Just to make my life more difficult I have a Toddler that's highly allergic to dairy, eggs and peas. Oh the food restrictions that are in my household lol.0
