I love going to the local Mexican restaurant. I usually get the chicken fajitas taco salad or the chicken fajitas soft tacos. I Also eat the chips which I know not good, but how do you track it on this app?

You find a similar entry in the database and log that (look at a few and pick one of the higher side).

This is what I do if I'm trying to keep it relatively within my calorie goals: I don't get any heavy sauces/dressings, I estimate the ingredients to the best of my ability (but leaning towards overestimating, for example if I'm eating pizza and I know damn well the slice they gave me looks more like a half a pizza, I log it as that), load up on veggies if I can, and I try to stick to the healthier options on the menu (I get tilapia fish tacos from this amazing mexican place near me).

If I go somewhere that I know is going to really push me over my calories for the day - I'll most likely eat a partial portion or take it for what it is and try to make up for it or stick to my goals on the other days.

Eat the fajitas without sour cream and cheese.
    Delicious just meat and veggies.
Just 9 chips can be an easy 120 calories and 10 grams of fat. I would avoid them.

I would eat some lean protein before going, to make sure I do not over eat.
A glass of skim milk and a serving of almonds would be perfect.

Refried beans can be a bomb.
Usually they have bad fats added to make them taste delicious.
They could even be mixed with crisco, bacon fat, leftover meat fat.

I usually try to deconstruct the meal when I get home. I'll take a picture of the food, then log each separate ingredient guesstimating how much I ate and then I'll add 1-2 tbps of oil depending on how much I think they used

Oh and before I go I will prelog 500-1000 calories depending on what I think I'm gonna want and I will try not to eat the whole meal if it doesnt fit into my number (Obv I have days where I just dont log it and enjoy my meal, but for the most part I like to stay on track even when eating out)
