Low carb issues

So I started doing low carb and it's helped with the weight loss definitely. There are a couple of problems I'm having though that are starting to get a little more noticeable.
1: my right knee is extremely stiff in the mornings mostly, but also throughout the day. I started taking men's one a day vitamin, fish oil pill, magnesium 250 MG pill, and a vitamin c chewable pill every morning. Still having stiffness.
2: I feel like I'm having way to many eggs. I mean a carton of eggs a week has been nothing. When I cant think of what to eat, I make some form of eggs. Like 2-3 at a time. Thinking of scaling back to 1 a day.
3: I've been getting irritable quickly as of late. Read it's temporary, but it'd been atleast 2 weeks.
So anyone else with low carb issues and what you did to resolve them. Also what supplements are you taking while on low carb. Thanks for this great community.

I don't think these are low carb issues, but lack of variety issues. Make sure you are eating lots of non-starchy vegetables, fats, and some fruit/berries every day. If you're fed up with eggs, eat more meat, fish, shellfish, dairy. And besides, you don't have to eat low carb except for medical reasons (doctor's orders) or if it helps with cravings. A calorie deficit is all it takes to lose weight, how you get there is up to you.0

I'm actually not fed up with eggs. I live eggs. Just trying pin point the issue.0

Not sure I understand the egg issue. I eat 2-3 per day, nearly every day. There's nothing wrong with it.
As for your knee, are you more active now than you were in the past? I generally find that a walk and some stretching goes a long way to help most aches.0 -
I can understands the activity things. However I eat regularly 3-5 eggs a day as it replaces some meal choices.0

Let me correct that. Not regularly. Most days are like 2-3 but there are days when I have eggs in the morning and at night when I can't think of what to eat low carb. Those days 3-5 is not unheard of for me.0

How recent is the knee stiffness? If home treatment and (I assume) rest weren't helping, I would schedule a visit with my doctor to make sure there isn't something medically wrong.
Exactly what are you concerned with when it comes to the eggs? Are you just looking for variety, or do you have a specific concern regarding your egg consumption?
Irritability is not unusual when adjusting to new eating and activity habits. Is your irritability causing problems for you? Clear communication with the people around you that acknowledges your irritability and asks for their patience as you adjust to the changes you are making may help them to be understanding and more tolerant. Taking responsibility for your behavior and apologizing when you lash out at others will also be helpful. If your irritability is excessive, then you might consider scheduling an appointment with your doctor to see if he or she has any suggestions that might be helpful.0 -
Are you drinking enough water? I have knee pain and stiffness from early onset osteoarthritis. I am better when I drink at least 8 glasses of water a day and take 1000 mg of Turmeric Curcumin daily. I also have taken a prescription arthritis pill since I was 36 years old. However, last year (I am 46) I added the Turmeric and it really made a difference. Even if you don't have arthritis I think you should consider taking this spice. Google it...its amazing. I get it from Walmart. 500 mg Spring Valley - Whole Herb - 90 capsules for about $8 and sometimes you can get a twin pack for the same price.
Here is some info on this spice:
Turmeric (Curcumin)
In the U.S., turmeric is best known as a spice. It's one of the main components of curry powder. In India and other parts of Asia, turmeric is used to treat many health conditions. It is believed to have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and perhaps even anticancer properties.
Why do people take turmeric?
Curcumin, a substance in turmeric, may help to reduce inflammation. Several studies suggest that it might ease symptoms of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, like pain and inflammation. Other compounds in turmeric might also be medicinal.
In lab tests, curcumin seems to block the growth of certain kinds of tumors. One study showed that turmeric extract containing curcumin could -- in some cases -- stabilize colorectal cancer that wasn't helped by other treatments. But more research is needed.
Other preliminary lab studies suggest that curcumin or turmeric might protect against types of skin diseases, Alzheimer's disease, colitis, stomach ulcers, and high cholesterol. Based on lab studies, turmeric and curcumin might also help treat upset stomach, scabies, diabetes, HIV, uveitis, and viral infections.
Hope this helps! Joyce0 -
1. That doesn't have anything to do with your macronutrient intake.
2. Too many eggs for what? For weight loss, calories in versus calories out, regardless of where those calories come from. Love eggs? Want to lose weight? Eat as many eggs as you can fit into your diet if you like.
3. Did very low carb diet once, I got like that. Didn't continue with it long enough to see if it goes away.0 -

Perhaps try looking into LCHF recipes and then make extras so you have leftovers on hand. The other day I made spaghetti with meat sauce for my family and that was a good fast leftover meal for me, minus the noodles. Cans of fish are fast snacks, an avocado, salmon patty, cheese and pepperoni. Just find stuff that appeals.
I haven't had eggs for over a week. They are not needed in a LCHF diet if you don't want them. If you plan ahead you can avoid them without a problem.Cellphoneman123 wrote: »3: I've been getting irritable quickly as of late. Read it's temporary, but it'd been atleast 2 weeks.

You might be low in electrolytes. Sodium is lost along with the early water weight so you may need to increase your Na intake to 3000-5000 mg per day to replenish it. Symptoms of low electrolytes are headaches, fatigue, moodiness, brain fog, nausea, muscle aches and spasms.... Is your knee issue muscular?
Anyways, drinking broth, salting your food, taking salt ablest or just adding a teaspoon of salt to water will help. Extra potassium along with your magnesium might help too.
Consider joining the Low Carber Daily group. There is a lot of good advice in there. http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/394-low-carber-daily-forum-the-lcd-group
Good luck.
