Hello everyone. ![:) :)](https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/resources/emoji/smile.png)
I'm currently struggling with weight loss. What are some exercises or techniques I can use to at least see up to a 5 pound decrease in a month?
Thankyou for your help!

I've been doing calorie deficit as well as going to the gym. I actually lost a pound, then gained two pounds back! It was frustrating, because I never once slacked.

I've seen this post many times and the answers are always the same - are you logging everything? Are you weighing everything you eat with a food scale? In grams? Everything (even those bites, licks and tastes)? If not you are probably eating more than you think. Also, how much do you have to lose? The less you have to lose the slower you will lose it. Are you eating back your exercise calories? If so how are you calculating that? If you are using the machines it is suggested that you only eat about 50% of them back.0

I'm going to reitterate what's stated many multitudes of times throughout these forums:
Are you using a food scale? Seriously, use a food scale. If you're using eyeball estimates and not logging /everything/ with a food scale, then likely you're eating more calories than you're aware. That was my issue. My weight loss picked up dramatically when I started using a food scale.
Just keep on keepin' on, and don't give up!
(also make sure you're drinking a /lot/ of water if you're working out new muscle groups - with the strain you're putting on your muscles, they need it to recover)0 -

If you are logging accurately (as per numerous posts above), then it could be water weight due to new exercise routines, stress ToM... 2 weeks is not enough time to guage your losses nor should you expect instant results. Weight loss is not linear, and requires patience.0

My 2 top tips to anyone looking to losing weight are as follows:
1. Water- Before tucking into any meals at all, drink at least one full glass of water and allow 15/20 minutes time before eating
2. Sleep- making sure your getting at least 8/9 hours sleep a day is crucial! Not only does this allow our bodies to repair themselves, we will just feel sluggish and non motivated when it comes to working out
3. Overall- the two above are very important to stick to when losing weight. You must remember though losing weight or even gaining does take time! As long as good nutrition is taking place with a good amount of general exercise throughout the week, you will begin to see results within a period of a month. KEEP GOING, YOU WILL SUCCEED IF YOU KEEP TO IT!!!!!!!!
