(Not looking for a debate...someones who's done them would be great, thanks!) Are detoxes and cleanses good for helping weight loss? I know they're beneficial in other ways but can they also help drop those lbs?

BTW looking to add more encouraging and motivational friends!

Nope but a calorie deficit works good.

They will help you lose weight in your wallet. That's about the only place.

Eating fewer calories than you burn helps with weight loss.

Nope. Waste of time and money. I can't think of a single thing they'd be beneficial for either.

Detoxes that flush your liver are very beneficial.

Nope. If your liver is not functioning properly you need a hospital not a detox.

Detoxes and cleanses are not beneficial. When they aren't useless wastes of money they can be actively harmful. Please check out MFP's Most Helpful Posts , specifically this one about detoxes and cleanses.

I haven't done one yet but I do some cranberry flushes because I'm prone to kidney stones.

Maybe someone who's actually done either one would be better suited to answer the question js.

Nope, and they are most certainly not beneficial in other ways.

They are utterly and completely useless.

Most of the people in your thread have tried silly fads in the past, including "detoxes", with no luck.

They (we) figured out the hard way that they are useless wastes of time and decided to just eat less food instead.
